You can bet that the Belichick hating media is polishing up their articles on how Pioli schooled Belichick on todays trade.

I can only imagine the articles we are going to be seeing this week from
Ron Borges, Michael Felger, Tom Curran, and Tony Massarotti.

Will they ever learn?

The media questioned Belichick's decision to draft Seymour instead of
David Terrell. Seymour became an all pro & David Terrell is one of the biggest
top 10 busts in NFL history.

The media questioned Belichick's decision to stick with Brady and trade
Bledsoe after the 2001 season. Brady has won 2 more rings since then and
Bledsoe's got intercepted by the King in a BurgerKing commercial.

The media questioned Belichick's decision to cut Lawyor Milloy the week
before the 2003 season started. When we lost the season opener 31-0 to Bledsoe,
Milloy and the Buffalo Bills the media was calling for Belichicks head.
How did that season turn out?

When Brady got hurt in the opener of the 2008 season, the media was calling for
the Patriots to go out and get a Brad Johnson, or a Daunte Culpepper
veteran. They said that Cassel should have been cut in preseason.
Belichick said that Matt Cassel was his quarterback after a shaky game
early in the season. Cassel continued to develop and got us a high draft pick.

Let's wait to see how Cassel does in KC & what we get with the #34 pick.
If that pick turns out to be an ALL PRO and Cassel struggles in KC, Belichick
will have the last laugh on the media as usual.

Now THAT made me laugh out loud!

The fans around the NFL have got to be thinking 'oh sheet' when they look at the Patriots.
-Brady appearently coming back and he should be very anxious to get back to the big game.
- what other team has better draft choices in the first three rounds?
- wait to the media starts with 'can BB win without Piolli'?
- cap space
This from a team that won 11 games last year.

And, oh yeah, let's not forget they arguably have an even better backup at QB then they had to start 2008. . . . :D

Cassel is going to have a good career in KC; that said, we are going to get a pro bowler who plays for us for ten years with the 34

Thow me in with the media.. I hope BB makes everyone look foolish but on the face this looks bad.. really bad..

I'm selling my season tickets - - no way I'm going to pay big money to watch a Patriots team without Cassel now. I'll be putting them up on the ticket exchange over the next few weeks.

Opening a roster spot, significant cap space and turning a 7th round QB into a top #2 pick?

Wow. A really bad day for you must involve misplacing your pocket lint.

Bwahaha! 50 points.

Here's my problem with the situation.. its not a 7th round pick. They vested time and money into cassel. All we heard is they were asking for a boat load of picks.. And today they lost two starting players and walked around with a #2 pick in the 2nd round..

Schuab deal got atlanta more.. Culpepper and Feeley were traded for 2nd rounders.. Your telling me those 3 are as good or better than Cassel? NO freakin way..

Yes we have money and yes we have the draft pick.. But is there a player out there that excites you in the free market?

BB was fleeced and the defense is in serious trouble this year.. They lost their most versatile and team leader today.. never mind a damn good QB.

Didn't you want to cut Cassel and keep Gutierrez last summer?

How bad can it be to have the 34th pick in the draft for a guy who wouldn't play for you next year anyway?

1st, that doesn't matter.. Time and money was vested into Cassel.. But to be honest and to answer your question.. Hell no.. I actually thought we were keeping 4 on the roster..

So Cassel was going to be our QB?

And do you honestly believe Vrabel would still be a starter this year if draft a stud OLB?

I don't.

We unloaded two players who would make much less impact next year than the pick and saved cap space will. I'd say write it down, but that's so un-green. Blog that, homey.

I for one, am disgusted with this garbage trade. Trash me if you want, but it looks very likely that KC will end up with Cassel, Vrabel and Curry while the Pats added one second round pick. Wow, good deal.

Was cassel going to be our QB?? I'll answer by saying.. Are you 100% sure Brady is going to be ready??
How about this.. Cassel is probably a top 13 qb in the league.. Would you expect more than a #2 pick for a TOP 13 QB in a SPORT that is QB driven?

And yes I believe Vrabel, at a reduced salary, would be our starter.. Because no one knows how the draft is going to fall.. PLus if we got this "STUD" LB, he would not START.. When is the last time, besides Mayo a defensive player started the season.. No to Wilfork, Seymour, Warren,.....

We rotate rookies.. Its a fact..

And is it still a garbage trade if Cassel turns into the next Huard and Vrabel is one and done????

THANK YOU!! I agree 100%

yup.. like the #34 blows out his knee walking to get water in training camp.. I'll taken a proven asset over a unknown talent that hasn't even been picked yet..

I dunno... the gall of AD breaking his arm... I mean Harrison shredding his quad... I mean Brady messing up his knee... I mean...

Dude/Ma'am - I suggest some herbal tea and a couple of walks around the block. Maybe pet a dog or hold a baby. It's gonna be ok. The sun will shine again.
