Would be great if true. Great for the Pats, great for Cassel, great move by Pioli. Hope Matt shreds the Chargers twice a year and makes Chicago, TB, SF and Minnesota all look like morons.

I'd hope it's either

A) #3 overall

B) #34 and 1st in 2010

I see 2 possible scenarios:

(1) Cassel and #23 for #3 and #34.

(2) Cassel and #89 for #34, #67 and a 2010 pick (minimal 2nd rounder, conditional to a 1st).

Either way, hope we can snag Connor Barwin at #34 as the "new Mike Vrabel".

i'd be a little disapointed if its for a couple 2nd round picks in two differnt drafts, and we dont know yet but it looks like vrabel is going down in the same trade, if not it's weird that we would know what we are getting from the cassel trade first.

It Cassel is as good as everything is saying now.. it's kind of hard to see him go but if they got great compensation for him, then the superbowl is looking good for the next few years.

I wouldn't be surprised if there were MORE PLAYERS involved. The Pats should have received a 1st round pick. Instead they got a second. Who knows? Maybe we get Gonzales in the deal too.

Adam didn't confirm anything other than Cassel to the Chiefs. The 2nd round compensation was merely speculation from what I took of it.

I think it's quite a confident move for Pioli to go for Cassel - considering he comes from the Pats - if this doesn't work out for him, yikes !

and there were lots of media people saying the pats wouldn't trade cassel to the chiefs because of the relationship and not wanting to look "funny" or awkward.
