Why do these trades?

Well first of all they are compelling to consider. Although they will most likely never happen, they are amusing.

#3= Peppers wants out. The Pats have a 3-4. With the #3, the Panthers can get QB Stafford to groom under Jake for a year. The Pats get Peppers and a high second rounder for Cassel that saves them money over Cassel’s $14m+ CAP cost. Detroit needs a ton of bodies so Stafford should be available at #3 and the nightmare of a Lions game day still terrorizes Joey “let’s throw a rookie out there and duck” Harrington every night. Maybe that was an omen. Joey of the Oregon “Ducks”.

#21=The Eagles get one of the top WRs in the game. Remember T.O. (the last talented big WR they had) led them to a Super Bowl game. In the contract McNabb just has to agree not to puke on Bolden’s shoes in the huddle. Anyone notice T.O. left after that? Ready for the next step? Now armed with another pick, AZ goes after the “after thought” LT in SD. SD uses the savings to sign Sproles and draft another top RB who is allowed to get on most of the rides in Disneyland. AZ gets an upgrade in Mr. LT over James and Hightower, and LT might have a few good years left in a Hall of Fame career. Also, it appeared that the Cards were running the ball much better in the playoffs. He brings more to the plate than James did (and Cambells Soup too). LT also benefits from a great passing attack the other teams can’t ignore. The SD passing game was sporadic.

#23=The swap of picks that Pioli gets happens so he still has a first rounder in a good draft class. Typical of Pioli trading down as in NE. Now for fun, we get another part of the deal for people who need to trade addresses, and be swapped to new teams. Heck, in this economy of weak real estate sales, just swap houses. NE is one or two players away from another SB run while K.C. gets two young players that Pioli drafted. Cassel also gets some familiar faces in K.C. LJ=Dillon=same dour attitude?

#34=The added K.C. pick that the Pats get for Cassel. It has been said that there is 37 players with a first round rating in this draft class. NE gets like a late first rounder plus Peppers for Cassel. I would do that. K.C. and the Pats should too.

#35=St. Louis is losing LT Orlando Pace. LT Peters has been fighting with the Bills for over a year about more money. He is young but the Bills take the picks. He gets to leave Torontolo.

#49=The Bears have no WR after Hester. Maybe Lovie can calm “Hopalong” Burress down or send him to target practice school. Still limping Plax? Plax please remember, that’s why Barney Fife only had one bullet and Sherriff Andy made him keep it in his shirt pocket. He is a talent and led the Giants to the SB in 2007. The Giants bail out on the big, but very silly WR. At least Lynch keeps his arsenal in his car trunk so they don’t get all smelled up by the herbious weedious in the ****pit of that “G’s” ride. Or better yet they can get one Gerald Lind Sensabaugh, Jr. of the Panthers who has everything but a bazooka, to join up with the two of them and take over a small third world country.

#53=The second pick AZ gets for Bolden is not bad.

#66=The second pick the Bills get for Peters isn’t bad either.

#68=Seattle needs a WR to go with Branch. The Bengals have at least 85 reasons why to let Chad go. He is still a talent and a change of scenery might cool his jets. His buddy TJ is leaving as well. Matt H. has no hair to pull out if Ocho Cinco (what if he can’t get #85 in Seattle? Does he change his name again like if he gets #88 as in Ocho Ocho?) is gonna give him some grief.

#71=T.O.? It’s time for another change for the sake of the coaches and F.O’s sanity. He is not that bad (i.e. see rape or drugs, or doing doodoo in ladies lingerie hampers or dogs or wifely “adjustments”) but he sucks the attention on everything a team does and Raiders QB Russell is big enough to slap the crap out of him and really make him cry. Al Davis loves the limelight too much to let T.O. get one up on him and way too old to care. Says Al, “I saw this Owens guy run in the Olympics. That little German fellow with the mustache was really mad”. Jerry Jones looks like he aged 20 years since T.O. joined the team. And Jerry, being the Carnival Barker of an owner that he is, can now stop sharing Dallas media. T.O. will fit with that bad boy Raider “just win” mystique as in “Just win with a little I love some me, baby!”

#76=The Jets are Farveless. They have no QB. Cleveland should have sent Anderson out for the deal offered last year, but then that is Cleveland. Gulp and take what you can get Brownies. We have all done stupid things. Quinn is your QB. Anderson might work out well on a better team.

#88=This deal makes too much sense. The Ravens Flacco seems to throw to Mason on every throwing down like 50 times a game. Holt still has speed and runs the right routes. He and D.Mason are two great vets to bring Joe along further. The Rams need a bit of everything and youth be served.

Whatever you're smokin must be some good s**t, it's scrambled your brains nicely.

Trading #3 plus a 4th round for a 29 year old overpriced OLB conversion project? No thanks. I'll take Jason Smith or BJ Raji as your draft goes, or trade back.

The trade with KC seems just crazy to me. Giving up Maroney for a banged up malcontent Larry Johnson makes no sense to me. Gonzalez is aging, and not worth the exchange.

I can't find Jarron Gilbert anywhere in your first 3 rounds.

Too many other things to mention. Nice effort though.

Are you claiming that the Pats are going to get KC's 1st rnd (3rd overall) and 2nd round (37th overall) for Cassel? Give Piolo a little bit of credit. I mean, do you think they guy guy got instantly dumb the second he stepped foot out of Foxboro and into KC?

#66=The second pick the Bills get for Peters isn’t bad either.

Hold on...you have the Bills trading a 27-year-old Pro Bowl LT for #66 overall? While Andre Smith goes #7? Am I missing something?

No. A swap of picks only first round that we would dump or trade (Peppers?). Nobody really wants a top five pick if it can be avoided or there is a first round hall of famer there.

No you have to look at all the rounds. The Bills get three draft picks for Peters who wants out. None of these potential trades are without reason such as contract squabbles or the chance to move on.

P.S. Peters had the highest sacks against any tackle in the NFL last year and he was still all pro. Maybe he is trying to get his QB killed to get out of Buffalo.
