Palm Beach Post: Palm Beach & Treasure Coast news, sports, entertainment, jobs, cars, homes

The writer throws an 80 yard Hail Mary...

And of course, we all know Belichick absolutely loves Tim Tebow. If Tebow is available when the Patriots pick in the first round of the 2010 draft, I don’t think there is any question Belichick will draft him.

“It’s going to be very interesting to see what happens when Tebow comes into this league,” Belichick told Sports Illustrated a few months ago. “There aren’t many players who can run and throw.”

I love the comment afterwards from the ND fan. What does he think Charlie was doing here during the taping years?

no kidding. Those comments are so typical of other teams fans. Morons

Anyway, I do not see us taking Tebow next year. That makes no sense. Besides, when has BB ever said a player sucks. So him saying Tebow is great means nothing.

Anthony Smith says "Ow." :)

Well, Chad Jackson and Jeremy Mincey were good names to drop, weren't they? ;) (And I think there were others (an undersized UDFA called Brown? a lineman also called Brown?))

As a Gator fan as well, I would love to see Cornelius Ingram rock an Elvis on his helmet. I think he could be a steal for us in the later rounds.

great article and i love the idiot fllorida fan thinking anything bb was doing is out of the ordinary. espn has brainwashed the clueless.

If your looking for a Tebow like player, then I think Pat White is a better option.

You can get him with our 2nd 2nd round pick, and he's twice as fast as Tebow, has just as nice of an arm if not better ( read all reports from the Combine + watch the Senior Bowl ).

Pat White from WV could be the Next Troy Brown for the Pats, same build, same versatile talent, and same team first attitude.

Pat White would be a amazing utility player for the pats, catching, back up QB, punt returner, etc...

The guy for 4 years, routinely outran every player on the field, and was even a better rusher than Steve Slaton which was great RB for Texas this year.

UFlorida players are garbage. PLEASE no more draft picks on U of F products

I like Pat White a lot as an Antwaan Randle El player, perhaps one with a better arm and more speed. He's a luxury-type pick (especially in the second round, I would wait until the third), but he could be a good one. As a Swiss Army knife type player, he could fill some gaps (punt returner, emergency QB, fourth wideout).

As for Florida players, they have been relatively disappointing in recent years, and not just the ones the Patriots have taken. I suspect Tebow will be a mid-second day pick, not a potential first rounder by any means.

It may be worth to pick Pat white simply to keep him away from the Dolphins. Not only is Pat white a winner ( only QB to win all 4 Bowl Games ), and a football player ( in the toughness sense of the phrase ) But I do believe Miami and their Wildcat formations with Whites speed could be nasty.

It might be worth getting his talent, to add to our team all over the field, as well as keeping miami from getting him.

As evidenced by winning two of the last three BCS titles and putting nearly 50 active players in the NFL.

To be fair, most of them have been stiffs.

Gator Football in the NFL Draft @ GatorZone.com

Outside of Reggie Nelson and Lito Sheppard, the Gators picked in the first round since 2000 have been pretty bad. There aren't a whole lot of guys I'd consider studs besides that, either. Again to be fair, this is true of most schools - Texas seems to be the only one that has consistently produced very good NFL players.

This will refresh your memory. :)

ahhh, thank you. I thought maybe you were talking about the steelers safety, but i didnt know BB slammed him to the press. That's classic. For anyone else who missed this, here's the quote.

"The curt, often-mysterious Bill Belichick has his team holding hands with an undefeated season. Even better, Belichick loosened up after Sunday's game and verbally vaporized the Steelers' Smith. Anybody who thinks Belichick can't hold a grudge or deliver payback -- are you listening, Jets? -- didn't see what he said about Smith after the loss ("He's just not very good," Belichick was quoted in a Chicago Tribune story)."
