Re: OT: Chiefs release Huard,LB Edwards,CB Surtain

Edwards 2 years ago I would have agreed with. Did just see a scroll that Keith Brookings may be released by Atlanta that's a guy I'd like to see in a Pats uniform on a 1 or 2 year deal.

I highly doubt it.

If Pioli didn't want them, it's unlikely that Belichick will want them. Even though there were salary considerations, it's not as if any of those players were getting the job done anymore.

anyone think it might be a salary dump to make room for a certian QB

They already had plenty of room under the cap. It looks more like what we saw here in New England when BB first showed up. I expect Kansas City to grab every good character veteran they can find.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Huard back here...

I guess the Edwards cut locks up Curry as the draft pick.

I really think they wanted to drop salaries of aged veterans that don't have a future in KC. Its a new regime and I venture a guess that this is generally done during the transition. Don't think the Pats would be greatly up graded by signing either.

I read or saw on TV where Huard received the game ball in the 2003 playoff game against the Colts because his impersonation on Peyton Manning during practice was so perfect that it helped the defense defend #18 to a tee.

He was a nice addtion back then and one you could be confident would replace Brady if Tom was injured and do a good job.
