Re: Vikings (close) to Trade for Rosenfels

All I need to say is watch the Houston and Colts game. That guy by himself gave the game away. He blew it. All set with that guy, good luck!

Re: Vikings (close) to Trade for Rosenfels

It's not bad enough that Minnesota is stuck with the Wolves, now they've got this version of the Vikings.

Poor bastards.

Re: Vikings (close) to Trade for Rosenfels

For all we know they pitched us their best offer at the Combine (shhh) and it wasn't even close. This might be plan B... or C.

Perfect fit for Brad Childress!!

Big time. That man literally handed the Colts that game and sent them on their way to 12-4. He wrapped up the game in a nice wrapping paper, ribbon and red bow and personally delivered it to Bill Polian.
Stole sure defeat from the hands of victory.

See, this is why the Viking are always going to be the Vikings and why that 4-eyed IDIOT Brad Childress should not even be anywhere remotely near an NFL head coaching position. Well after the Vikes finish at 9-7, thanks solely to AP's efforts, that 4-eyed goober will soon be fired.

and here is yet another example of why I am very, very happy that Bill Belichick is making the decisions for this team.

Re: Vikings (close) to Trade for Rosenfels

Well, Rosenfels could be replacing Frerotte or Jackson or both. It doesn't rule out a trade for Cassel, but makes it far, far less likely. They are morons if that is the only upgrade they make at QB though. Might as well break up the defense for draft picks and rebuild if that is the case.

They've picked up Gus Frerotte's roster bonus, he's a Viking in 2009. Hard to believe but it's true. The 4-eyed moron, who calls himself a head coach in the NFL, is going into the 09 season with the equivalent of the 3 stooges at the QB spot with (Rosenfels, Frerotte and TJackson).

Can you believe this guy ?

I tend to agree with the above statement.

As a football fan, I continually find myself amused/frustrated by the lack of teams like Minny and Chicago to avoid facing reality. These teams, arguably close to being elite, need better QB play. Their lack of effort to seriously fix this issue is amazing.

Cassel will be head and shoulders above Rosenfels, Orton, etc. If you fast forward to January, you will see Minny in a playoff game at Giants Stadium. You will see the Giants contain AP and force the game into Sage's hands...game over! Cassel proved this year that he can be the man, the first option.

My prediction:

Cassel goes to Detroit on Friday for the 20th overall and the Lions own 3rd.

If Cassel's amenable to that, then: from your keyboard to God's monitor. :)

Re: Vikings (close) to Trade for Rosenfels

I didn't think that either the Vikings or the Bears would be

interested in Cassel. Both of these teams feel that a good

defense and a good running game offsets the need for a

good (and relatively expensive) quarterback. I just hope

that some team will offer at least a second round pick for Cassel.

Otherwise, the Patriots may end up keeping him and settling

for a compensation pick in 2011.

Re: Vikings (close) to Trade for Rosenfels

BWAAAHAHAHAHAHA. Lord, I feel sorry for Vikings fans. The rest of their team is dominant (defense, running game, passing game is better because of the run) but they don't have a QB. Someone apparently didn't give Childress Sage advise when it came to Rosenfels (hey, it's not great but it's the best I got right now).

Re: Vikings (close) to Trade for Rosenfels

Am I missing something here, I mean, I know I'm a Patriots Homer and all, but why in the hell would you do this over Cassel?

Well it's not liked they'd be getting Sage or Cassel at equal value. Vikings brass obviously feel that for the 2009 Vikings Sage at lower compensation & salary > Cassel at higher compensation & salary.

Well, Jackson could be the odd guy out. Granted I can't see Frerotte being happy to be the 3rd QB nor Rosenfels being it if they are giving up a fourth for him.

It's pretty simple. Pay a little and you get to take a shot with a career back-up as your starter. Pay a little more and you get a potential franchise quarterback who has proven he can win consistently in the league.

I agree, It's not equal value in $$'s or level of play. Cassel is the better option. This all smells like there is already a deal or Cassel is not going anywhere.
