You called it! Watching Barwin today, my jaw has been on the floor. Incredible fluidity, explosion, foot quickness, runs with his arms, rips his hips open with his elbow, his shoulders stay over his knees, he keeps his eyes up and his chin level, the dude looks like a pro-bowl OLB in the making. Way to call it!

How'd you recognize him? Draftscout get your interest, then you watched film? Regardless, way to identify a stud.

I caught a few Cincinnati games and got to see him pass rushing and dropping in coverage...his ball awareness was the first thing that caught my eye, 7 PD showed on the field by his ability to check his rush and get his hands up. The one area he really will need to work on is setting the edge, Cincy did not work him enough there, but his value add as a TE and on STs helps pay his dues while he develops.

Barwin will be worth trading up for in the 2nd round from the San Diego pick. He's a guy who I would consider an upgrade over most of the OLBs currently on the Pats. Except for Thomas and Vrabel.

Now wait just a minute. The tough nut that I am -- here's the scoop. When the Pats have the opportunity to draft Barwin -- and they actually do, then Box gets credit for discovering him. Because that's what we do here, discover Pats prospects. So until Belichick seals the deal, we're only observing a potential Pats prospect exhibiting insane athleticism.

Now take your seat Box with the rest of the nominees...the Oscar may or may not be yours...:woohoo::( :p

As long as those damned Eagles don't get another of "my" Linebackers.

I bet Barwin is rising fast now. I worry he may not last for the Pats to take him.
