Kicking off with the unfortunate news that Crabtree has a stress fracture in his foot and should be out of action 10-12 weeks.

Edit: per announcers on NFL.com

This is VERY interesting news. I'm sorry to see this in a "positive" light in that, we may have a Randy Moss situation here with the kid dropping through the first round. Major risk, not knowing his actual speed, but as he drops, more and more teams will be tempted. You can have another Larry Fitzgerald on your hands with this kid. Then again, you may have another bust.

If the Patriots end up with 2 first rounders, this may be a chance they are willing to take even though WR isn't a major need. Crabtree is top 5 or top 10 talent. In the 20s he looks very good to me.

I really hate foot injuries, it just seems the fastest way to ruin a career.

WOW.. Just listed to Andre Smith get ripped by Casserly for not being there. And saying that Smith's stock is falling..

I'll be mildly suprised if he's taken on the first day. First a suspension, then not training for the combine, and now disappearing? That's three strikes, my friend.

He's not dropping out of the first round, unless he shoots someone. Some stupid GM will taken by his size and potential and take him.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow. Particularly how Aaron Kelly does in the drills, more so than the 40.

It's part of the plot, Andre wanted to play for a winner so he and Nick cooked this up so BB could draft him at #23.

I thought this was the wide receiver thread...

Let's see. We have Moss and Aiken, with Welker in the slot. Slater is our #4 wide receiver. We have no #5 WR on the roster, although I guess it's Ventrone, since he is expected to be tendered. As of now, in the last two years we have lost Stallworth, Gaffney and Washington. We have no replacements except some STers who are emergency wideouts.

Are you kidding when you say WR isn't a major need? Just what would we do if Moss or Wekler were out for a few games?
