Andre Smith, who disappointed coaches, GMs and scouts by not lifting yesterday, is now a NO-SHOW at the Combine today. No one knows where he is, the NFL Network guys are saying it'sTHE biggest story of the weekend by far. He was considered a top 5 pick, #1 OL off the board, and he's costing himself millions.

Dude, just show up and say you're only going to work-out at your personal session, but at least be there. Unreal. He's an idiot, and his agent is criminally negligent.

He has been found and it doesn't look like anything serious. So far.

Red flag. This is just the kind of thing the Combine is useful for - interviews & attitude.

Let's recap : he screws his chance to play in the championship game (who's he putting first ?) & now this.

If anyone is willing to part with a high level draft pick for Cassel, I'd be very surprised to see the Pats take a chance on him. BB puts importance on people who make football important.

He was overrated anyway. He's not a tackle in the NFL. At best, a right tackle, but more likely a guard. This will knock him down closer to where he should be taken.

I recall Patriots great John Hannah on "PFW in Progress" few year ago saying that Andre Smith is the best OL college propect he has seen in years. I think the Patriot will take him.

How will he find his way to Foxboro though???

I have it on the down low: Smitty didn't want to play for a loser, like Detroit or Dallas, and Nick Saban found him curled up on his back porch, sobbing broken-heartedly as his stock continued to rise while Detroit and Dallas tanked another season. After a nice cup of camomile tea together, Nick sent a homing pigeon to Bill (for security) and they began planning the best way to get Smitty to slide to #23. My "source" expects additional trouble reports to come out in the next few weeks, including sightings at an ice cream parlor, a KFC, a strip club near Adam Jone's home, and several hot dog stands.

It is the only thing that makes sense.

If I have learned nothing else on this board, it is that everything that happens related to the NFL is because the mad scientist Bill Belichick is pulling the strings behind the scenes.

Hey may be an idiot, but apparently he doesn't have an agent. That's what mystifes me. How can such a high profile prospect show up to the combine unprepared and without an agent? He could drop out of the 1st round for all we know. This is a debacle of epic proportions. At least Crabtree has an injury excuse.

correction, it appears he does have an agent, but not a very good one.

Dude is falling like Wile E Coyote off a cliff.

I hope he improves his stock again. I don't want to see him on this team. Smith is extremely overrated. I got the chance to see him first hand in the SEC Championship as my Gators beat the 'Tide and he was the only guy on Alabama's offensive line who was getting routinely blown off the ball.

You mean like Jake Long last year was a Right Tackle?

Yeah but Jake Long was a 310 lb of pure muscle tackle and Smith is a 345 lb tackle with weight problems. He reminds me Leonard Davis, who is a great guard but was drafted and payed as a tackle (2nd overall)

How much do you think he lost by doing that, $20 Million?
