...at a Dunkin Donuts. I don't know what it means, but I do trust the source - just a fan who saw him there, and is sure it was Deuce. Could be the Patriots just doing due diligence, but certainly an interesting story.

He'd be a fine depth guy like Jordan. If you remember, in 2001 Belichick tried to trade up from what turned out to be the Matt Light pick to get into the late first round to get a sliding McCallister.

Not sure. I'm certain somebody is there - plus it was the other day, so maybe they were still in town. Who knows, maybe he was just looking for work at the Foxboro DD.

Isn't the Patriots 'brass' all in Indy? Who could he have been meeting with?

I may be way off here but I thought i remember reading something where BB doesn't go to the combine. It's the rest of the front office. I'm not 100 percent positive but I could have sworm i remembered reading that.

I may be way off here but I thought i remember reading something where BB doesn't go to the combine. It's the rest of the front office. I'm not 100 percent positive but I could have sworm i remembered reading that.

No BB is there, as usual, he is wearing a red Rutgers lacrosse jacket.

Look I don't want to urinate on the parade, but I-know-a-guy-who-was-absolutely-positive... I dunno.

He could be mistaken. He could be a very enthusiastic fan seeing what he wanted to see. He could just be a guy that wanted to have an important thing to say at a bar, and happened to live/work around Foxboro...

Or, yeah okay it could really truly be really him, and the Pats doctors are looking at him. Still, a lot of wear on that not-all-weather tire. It's been a long time since he was healthy for a whole season.

Of course I've said myself, not a bad guy to to work into a time-share.

Deuce makes sense for a look. He could basically pick up where Lamont Jordan left off. He can also fill the power back role better than Morris or Maroney ever could. For the right price, I'd take him.

According to the New Orleans papers (LINK), McAllister had his knee scoped recently. It is the same knee he has surgery on last year.

McAllister has said he isn't healthy enough after that surgery to pass a physical yet. Given that, I doubt the Pats are on the brink of signing him, although I suppose they could have visited with him to discuss things.

He's also, reportedly, coming off the 'roids as well. That wear and tear can take even more of a toll. Personally, if we were going after free agent running backs with a lot of miles, I'd much rather take Fred Taylor.
