Too bad we won't be able to grab him. Not only does he have the athleticism of a former tight end, and addresses everybody as "Sir", but he has an interesting hobby:

Yes, sir. I'm a team roper. I'm a header. It's something I adapted when I was younger. Team roping's actually safe. It's not one of those events where you can get hurt. I did it while I was in college up until last year when football really got serious. When Coach Briles first came in, he said 'You gotta quit riding horses.' I was like, 'Yes, sir.' I've got a pretty big quarterhorse. Ol' Gray's pretty big.

Damn...draft him and Bear Pascoe, pick up Robert Meachem in a trade, and put them together with Mankins, and we'll avenge the loss in the Big Man Dance Challenge by kicking some serious tail in the NFL Rodeo Challenge.

He also had the quote of the day...When I'm on the field, I take a lot of pride in physically assaulting somebody.

Edit: I suppose this could go in the Combine thread.

Hah...and I thought it was a good find from an obscure source.
There was more detail than the comments provided by the NFL.com blog. I'm personally ready to trade Cassel for a Top 5 pick after reading the team roping comments.

Ah, cowboys!

Even if he couldn't rope an' throw an' brand 'em, Jason Smith would probably be my #1 overall pick.

Did you hear Mayock rip Michael Johnson of Georgia Tech? He called him the Tin Man! I love his honesty, but man he's killing the kid just before the biggest weekend of his life!

If the kid has any fire in his belly (one of the knocks on him), he'll come out smoking hot and light the place up. Mayock knows what he's about.

That's exactly what Mayock predicted. He's got all the ability to flourish at the combine, but no heart on the field.

It's well known I've been on the Jason Smith bandwagon for a while, as I think he will be the best OT taken in this draft and one of the best in the league in a short amount of time. I've seen him quoted with a statement like this in several interviews, and I love it. That's exactly how he played at Baylor. Just ferocious, hitting a guy, putting him down and moving to the second level to pancake someone else. If we do trade Cassel for a high first round pick, Smith is one of the very few players in this draft I wouldn't mind seeing the Pats commit the guaranteed money to that comes with that territory.

Some people consider Jason Smith a better LT prospect because of his agility. He might turn out to be the best pass protector of the big 4.

For people who want to see him in action, here's some of the footage out there. It's not much, but there are a few plays in there where his athleticism and ability to slide out and mirror edge rushers really stands out. Because Baylor is primarily a running team, most of the plays are runs, so there's a good selection of footage showing Smith getting up the field after the initial surge and making a second and sometimes third block. He's #72 in these clips.
