Inside the NFL's Cris Collinsworth: Belichick Not a Great Coach

kinda funny ,simms ripping everyone who makes statements too early...like BB is not a great coach . Collinsworth asks if the pats made the playoffs to mockingly justify his point but i think the heading of the ariticle takes it to next level.

It was a piece where Simms vented about his pet peeves about each of the other co-hosts and said they had to correct them if they wanted to become a better show. I could be wrong, but I detected some genuine tension there. I'm actually surprised he called them out so directly. I agree with him totally, but he should have had the number of times Sapp agreed with Collilnsworth researched if he was going to bring it up.

Cmon now you put a completely bad spin on what was actually said.

Phil Simms was basically talking about when Brady went down and Matt Cassel was the known backup after struggling throught the preseason. Collinsworth along with every Patriots fan questioned Belichicks integrity by keeping Cassel on as QB. Obviously BB knows what he's doing.

Collinsworth DID NOT SAY Belichick IS NOT A GOOD COACH I get the impression he was questioning his choice in backup QB's. I'm sure he made all of us look like asses and proved how great he really is.

That was a very entertaining clip.
Sapp was also getting a bit agitated.
That was a great beat down by Simms.
Those guys deserved it for the negative things
they've said about BB and the Pats.

Collinsworth DID NOT SAY Belichick IS NOT A GOOD COACH I get the impression he was questioning his choice in backup QB's. I'm sure he made all of us look like asses and proved how great he really is.

Some of us have more faith in BB's ability (I don't see the relevance of BB's integrity here) to evaluate talent and coach up. If you were to go back to early September threads you will find many who vocalized their support of BB's choice in Cassel. Even if many of the opinions were simply to give Cassel a chance to see if we could see what BB must have seen day in day out. In other words, I don't feel like an ass, well, for that issue anyway.

I don't think I would waste my time watching Collinsworth on this subject after his comment before the Chargers game shortly after Spygate broke: "There are three things I don't believe in anymore: the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny and Bill Belichick." He apparently rephrased his remark on Inside the NFL with "The Tooth Fairy, NBA refs and Bill Belichick. . . . It's not a good state of affairs in professional athletics when we now believe in politicians more than you believe in the NBA and the NFL."

I actually didn't mind Collinsworth, but he went all in on this issue and literally had no answer (he actually mumbled a few words and couldn't say anything when they cut to him after the game, causing the booth to say "Chris, you must be really tired after the long day") when the Pats mopped the field with San Diego that night, and I really can't stomach him anymore. This coming from a guy who supposedly spends much of his day breaking down film at home, and he could not find any evidence to support his theory that Belichick was an illusion.

Ehhh.... Collinsworth is a moralist kind of guy. You take the good with the bad. He generally does a good job, and getting upset with anything the sports media writes or says is just a waste of energy.

I agree with you completely. I'll never forget when Dale and Holley had him on about Spygate. He sounded as though BB had slain his (Collinsworth's) entire family, and if that's an exaggeration, it's a minescule one.

I'm with you on this. Once they changed the format, it became just another show with a bunch of 'analysts' telling me their opinions on topics where their opinions mean nothing to me.

Collinsworth can suck it he has to have one of the most annoying voices in broadcasting I have no respect for this guy at all! and Sapp well that's Sapp he doesn't make much sense anyway. Jerry Jones for MVP!!
