With strongly rumblings out of the desert that Boldin will not play another down for the Cards, they will likely be shipping him. Given the market price for diva WRs who are upset with their current team tends to be lower than market value (for any trade not involving Jerry Jones that is), I think Boldin might realistically go for a second round pick.

So do you think any team would look to invest a first & second in Cassel & Boldin? (Some peripheral picks might get tossed in, but that would likely be the "meat" of any deal.)

To me, that is an attractive combo. One of the "knocks" on Cassel is that his WRs generate loads of RAC and that inflates his states; well, pairing him with one of the best RAC WRs in the game seems like a no brainer.

Anyway, I could see a team like TB, with loads of cap room, a solid D, but underwhelming passing game making a big splash like this.

Not sure there is another team that has the cap room + QB/WR need combo to make it work though ...

The popular theory is Boldin and Haley "staged" the sideline fight to set things up for Pioli to trade a third and 2010 4th for Boldin the same time he traded the 2nd and 2010 first for Cassel. Or it will be as soon as I can find that txt number for Adam Schefter.

Now all he needs to do is make Haynesworth filthy rich and draft a pass rush.

I think it would take more than a 3rd and next year's 4th to trade Boldin based on his level of performance. Plus Arizona's in the driver's seat, they don't even have to trade him. With Fitzgerald and Breaston it won't kill them to let Boldin sit, and with two years left on his contract Boldin has almost no leverage.

....

i dont think any team has the necessary amount of draft picks to make this. we are hearing from media sources, however accurate or inaccurate, that it will probable take at least a first for both Cassel and Boldin. i guess if a team was drafting high enough this year they could trade a very eearly 2nd this year and a 1st next year. but i doubt it will happen

Detroit has the 1st and 20th picks this year

Damn that is a cool theory. Wish I thought of it.

Right, the scenario is untenable if Boldin costs a first, but my gut is based on recent history, the Cards will not be able to get proper value for him as he has dug in his heels pretty deeply here and eliminated any trade leverage the Cards would have had.

(Really makes you a appreciate having a guy with Cassel's temperament ...)

ill stop posting if one team gets both players

Actually, that would be a brilliant move, at least from a fantasy perspective.
