Bob Kraft made a surprise appearance on the Howard Stern Show this morning. Since Stern isn't a sports fan, it wasn't a very insightful interview. For example Stern was far more interested in Kraft's finances and Giselle's affect on Brady's focus than the status of Brady's knee or Cassel at all (he was briefly referenced, but never mentioned by name).

Kraft did say he was approached by Bernie Maddoff, but passed because his advisors who vetted the proposal claimed they didn't understand how the thing worked. Stern asked if because of Giselle that if Brady doesn't play well right off the bat when he returns whether Kraft would cut Brady (I said Stern isn't a football fan), Kraft said Brady is a special person, Kraft can't tell someone how to live their live, and that the Patriots are very lucky to have Brady. Someone asked about how Brady is doing and Kraft said "very well" two or three times and that Brady is splitting his rehab between the East and West Coast (the only real new piece of info). Baba-Booey came in and said that the Pats had an outstanding back up who could start for most teams. Kraft kinda avoided that statement by just talking about how the Pats are interested in building a complete team.

The rest of the interview was kinda standard Stern interview where he asked about Kraft's kids and whether they worked for him (yes, all do) and stating that if Kraft was his father that he would worship him every day because he is so rich and he would inherit the motherload. They did talk about the time Artie Lange and Baba-Booey went to the Kraft's house and did a show for Kraft's son's birthday. Nothing new though.

For those trade Brady people....Brady is not being traded..Wouldnt help the cap hit anyway.

(A) If only those teams' FOs and fans would realize that. . . .
(B) Baba-Booey's check, I'm sure, is in the mail. ;)

What is this referring to, specifically?

Stern asked him if he ever met Maddoff and how he never got involved in his Ponzi scheme. Kraft said that he met Maddoff a few times at events and his people did look at the Ponzi scheme and they couldn't figure out what it was all about so he passed.

The Stern Show is available online, but only for paid subscribers. In reality, it really wasn't worth listening to. It wasn't a great interview. I just figured I would pass it along.

Both Belichick and and the Kraft family are said to be big fans of The Howard Stern Show. Belichick called into Stern randomly the morning after they Pats beat the Eagles in the Superbowl. I remember listening to it live and the one question I remember Stern asking Bill was if his wife gave him sex after the game.

Am I the only one thinking 'why would Bob Kraft agree to be on Howard Stern's show'?

He was meeting with Mel Karmazen who runs Sirius and they were touring the offices and Sterm asked him to come on the air. I am assuming as a member of the broadcasting committee for the NFL, Kraft was at Sirius for something to do with Sirius NFL Radio.

The Kraft family are actually big fans of the Howard Stern Show. Just last year they had Artie Lange and Gary Dell'Abate over there house as a surprise for their son Dan's birthday.

Bill Belichick also once called into the Stern show.

No, you're not. I cannot stand Howard Stern and do not know how anyone listens, much less appears to be a guest, usually to be treated like dog !@#$!. I'm surprised either the Krafts or BB are fans.

High risk/low reward.

Not much positive can come out of it regarding the image of Kraft or the Pats, but a distinct possibility of something negative happening. It's not a forum to get your message out about your brand (Pats) as it is not a sports show. Some people find his show offensive; appearing on Stern will not gain the team more fans but it does risk alienating some. Others take every opportunity they can to bash the Pats; now you're giving those critics ammunition.

Take Kraft out of the picture for a moment, and put yourself in the position of a Public Relations director of a Fortune 500 company. Would you advise your CEO to go on Stern's show?

I'm with you. Curious move. As a Sirius subscriber, I'm aware of the connection between Sirius and the NFL. I'm far from being a prude, but Stern? I've listened, and watched, in the past and his treatment of women and those with disabilities is reprehensible. Just my opinion...

It's a comedy show. Some people just don't get it, I guess.

Good thing you won't have to listen to the interview and ruin your misconceptions, huh?

That is your opinion; I have personally heard very candid interviews with celebrities and others that opened my eyes to them. I have certainly purchased products that were brought to my attention by the show. Just because you don't like the show, don't generalize about it's influence or it's impact.
