What a waste of a pick for the jets. S-U-C-K, suck suck suck.

can we do a poll ...when will Farve return?

The pats will sign him after we trade Cassel as our back up!

Groundhog day was a week ago wasn't it ??? I do think it's for real this time but it is Favre . . .

There's a better chance that Stephen Hawking does a backflip than Favre stays put.

Like the tides and tulips in Spring. I wil shed a single tear, as I did last year, and as I will do again next year too.

The question is whether the Jets release him or put him on the reserve/retired list. Sounds like the latter. So the Jets could have a head ache come May or June.

Favre should have retired last year. The guy is a shell of his former self. He is still capable of a handful of All Pro games, but he will average or mediocre most of the rest of the year.

Take away that 6 TD game he had against the Cards and his 2008 numbers are even worse. Favre was a great player for a long time, but last year proved that he is truly done. That last game of the year against the Dolphins was so unbelievably terrible; it looked like he was throwing picks on purpose. It's time for him to go.

The interesting part of this is where the Jets go from here. Kellen Clemens is crap, so let's hope he starts next year. Regardless, the Jets are headed for one of those fun 4-12 type seasons.

If official this time, it saves the Jets a ton of money, really helping their 2009 season.

It also puts one more team in the "demand" side of the QB supply/demand market.

It greatly helps their cap but there's nothing harder than getting a capable QB; remember how nice it was in 2007 facing Kellen Clemens :)

For one play in game of game 2 and a quarter of game one?;)

Of course he retired. Now he can enjoy his offseason without needing to work out or attend mini-camps. Then come early July he can announce his return and demand his unconditional release.

Sad, NE's loss. I seriously think he'll retire this time, he was called out by Rhodes and Thomas telling him to join the offseason program and condition himself for the long haul instead of playing prima donna on a tractor, he doesn't want to do that and he doesn't want to go to a hostile locker room.

And that would differ from his last 75 seasons how? ;)

For better or for worse, though, they're not getting Cassel. :)

No, for the 33rd QB ranking in the league, for 5 TD/10 INT, for a 52% completion%. For sucking. I know he's young and could improve and that Jets' fans like Ratliff as the flavor of the month but while Favre was up and down, if you need a big 3rd down conversion, I don't think Clemens or Ratliff is who you want in there.

Which is why I'm happy we Franchised him even in the unlikely scenario that we're stuck with him for a year.
