Get ready for throwbacks - Reiss' Pieces - Boston.com

In a letter mailed to season-ticket holders this week, the Patriots relayed news that the team will be wearing red-and-white throwback jerseys from the 1960s era for two games during the 2009 season.

The 2009 season marks the 50th anniversary of the American Football League.

....

And Bissel cartoons too.:rocker:

Not that you need another reason but know I really cant wait until the season tickets show up.

That's good to hear! I wish the Pat's would make a habit of this like the Bills do.

Sounds like the PFW guys weren't supposed to say anything about which weeks they would be worn in but that cat is already out of the bag.

The World Champ Steelers have been donning those alternate jerseys the past few years as well - They actually look better than the regular ugly black and gold

I for one am excited for the jerseys to come back. My birthday is near the end of September so my gift to myself will be a throwback jersey. :singing:

If I read that right, the white throwbacks will be worn as well.. Its the only jersey I dont own right now..

Gawd, those red jerseys look chintzy. The should've left them in the dumpster, along with Rod Rust, Eugene Chung, Hugh Millen and Foxboro Stadium. Flying Elvis rules. :rocker:

73-83 uniforms were the best .. I wish they wore those ..

do you know where I can find an era by era timeline (pictures) of the evolution of the Patriot uniforms?
I'd love to take that nostalgic tour!

I don't have one of the full uniforms but here's one I got of the helmets.
