Well, if Wisenhunt can be crowned, so can Tomlin.

OK, I know you guys have a tough time giving credit where due. Tomlin is da man in Pittsburgh, he's black, and he's a Dungy guy! Love it!

the steelers got 7 pts from a fluke play, and got another 3 from 3 bs personal foul calls....plz

He's a good coach but what have you seen from him that warrants elite coach status? The last time a Steeler playoff game came down to crucial decision making (Jacksonville last year) he was outdone pretty bad. He took over a team with great talent, the only reason they missed the playoffs in '06 was Big Ben doing his evil caneival impersonation and that pretty much killed their season. This is still the team Cowher built, Brian Billick has a ring too but he was never an elite coach.

Tomlin took over a Superbowl winner 2 years ago... while his accomplishments are impressive, Barry Switzer and George Seifert also won with prior Superbowl teams from former bosses.

Well, as much as I hate to say it, Tomlin isn't exactly Barry Switzer, nor Wade Phillips for that matter.

Switzer took over a team that won back-back Super Bowls, yes...but he was also fortunate enough to not only have Jimmy's team, but his assistant coaching staff, as well as the triosome leadership of Aikman/Irvin/Smith. Neither of these 3 respected Switzer much-it didn't hurt them in the short run, but it did in the LONG run(after their '95 Super Bowl, they just completely fell apart).

Tomlin has taken a very, very successful Cowher system, and refined it. Unlike last year, he seems to have that command of respect not only from his players, but from his (Cowher-made)coaching staff as well...something Switzer never had. For example, that whole ordeal with Casey Hampton last year where he had to send him home after coming in overweight...well, Hampton responded the way the Steelers hoped. This would have NEVER happened with Barry.

As for Wade Phillips-poor guy-he took over a talented, albeit underachieving Tuna squad.

Well, yeah I wouldn't say he's Barry Switzer, but he's not an elite coach. The Cards are not nearly as good a team as Pittsburgh but without a crazy good play by Harrison at the end of the first half they probably would have lost that game. I still have Whisenhunt rated higher than him.

Plus having **** LaBeau around helps quite a bit.

Sour grapes. What the hell took the Cards so damn long to go no huddle, and figure out a way to get Fitzy the ball? Who the hell decided to play passive "D" on that final drive? Where was Edge in the 2nd half? Please, tell me why Whisenhunt should be annointed? I mean, Kurt Warner is now all the sudden an HOF'er. Fitzy is probably the top WR in the game (sorry Andre). They have plenty of talent on their squad. Why the hell were they 9-7 with a pansy ass schedule, when the Steelers went 12-4?

Oh please, he took a downtrodden franchise to the freaking Super Bowl in 2 YEARS. I don't care how bad some people think the NFC is, that is a feat. And if it weren't for a fluke pick 6 on the Steelers 2 yard line and some iffy officiating, he likely would have taken them to the very top. Aside from Bill Bellicheck, who has taken a team from the pits of the league to a title that fast? The list is very short, if there is one, and Whisenhunt was that close to being on it.
