So, now what do we do until free agency and the draft?

I believe pitchers and catchers report soon.
NASCAR starts in 2 weeks.
The NBA is about to have it's All Star Game, which is fun to watch if you hate seeing people play defense.
The NHL season is over the hump (my son and I are going to some Devils games).
March Madness is coming up in, well, March.

Some decent time killers until August. Any other suggestions?

I'd say the combine, but watching that is hideously boring imo.

Warmer weather coming soon.
Bust out the grill
Drink lots of beer
Get outside and take in some fresh air
Catch a few baseball games (will be in Boston this summer, gotta get my kids to Fenway)
Drink more beer
Stare at my hottie neighbor sunbathing while i ride the lawn tractor over the same exact area about 10-12 times before she gets suspicious
suddenly, its August

Thank god this stupid season is over and done with. I am very ready to move on.

Whoo! Hoo! We can now replace Cassel and McDaniels bashing with "intelligent" conversations like trading away Tom Brady. Can't wait.

There is some paint drying in my unborn baby's room if anyone is interested.

Well we'll at least replace the McDaniels bashing with O'Brien bashing... but the content will be the same, so not much to look forward to there.

Trying to make babies (or at least practicing to) may be more interesting.

The Boston Celtics just won their 40th game!!!! That is more than some football teams win in a decade.

My thoughts exactly. As enjoyable as this year ended up being, losing Brady to injury then not making the playoffs at 11-5 was just a killer. Looking forward to getting Brady back, having our young guys be a year better, and a fresh group of rookies.

Patjew, You need to start another countdown.... the season will be here before you know it!

Ha, that's a great idea! Well, I think it is, at least. ;)

My picks for the surprise teams in '09...

St. Louis Rams - Steve Spagnuola could work wonders with them

Washington Redskins - If Colt Brennan gets the nod

New Orleans Saints - Unlike last year, they'll be much healthier

Denver Broncos - Josh McDaniels' fresh attitude will rub off on the team

Houston Texans - They'll finally get it together under Gary Kubiak

Who is your (non-Dallas) SB pick? I know it's ridiculously early, I'm just curious.

yeah, this season was the worst since 2000 for me as far as looking forward to the games goes.

Yeah, we can at least kill time watching them win another Championship. :D

For me, the worst part of the off-season, other than the lack of no football, is the start up of Nascar, just can't figure out why people watch it other than for the crashes.

On the plus side, my wife and I go the movies a lot on sunday afternoons in the off-season. Helps to kill some time. :)

Ha Ha! So true! As the game was winding down last night, I kept thinking, "How many months until the draft?" At least the game was interesting and did not deteriorate into a blow out.

I did my one Nascar event...every lap Dale Jr drove by our section, the good ole boys raised their hats and swilled beers and went nuts. 200 laps later, these guys were destroyed...a yakathon. People put ponchos on to stay yak free....yeeeeeee haaaaaaaaa

The thaw is coming. Enjoy the warmer weather back home! Get some fresh air and exercise and get ready for a strong 2009.

Kidnap alert! Kidnap alert! This poster is an impostor. No true New Englander would anticipate the end of winter at the beginning of February ...

Baseball bores and depresses me. NASCAR occurs on another planet as far as I'm concerned. NHL and NBA are interesting only during the playoffs. March Madness is too far away. I have only one antidote: NFL Network.

BB was correct (as usual).

After 6 years of intensity, I used January to chill out. I didn't watch any of the playoffs and didn't watch the Super Bowl. It is beyond fustrating to think of watching a team the Pats beat 47-7 put up 400 yards of passing against the team that TB flawlessly decimates.

Think about what we have been through as a fanbase:

Indy AFCCG
Spygate
SB XLII
TB injury
11-5 and no playoffs

Ughhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Pro Bowl is next week

Yea, that's riviting Football. ;)

I would suggest anyone out there that has not read "Education of a Coach", pick it up and give it a go.

You can get it on eBay for cheap as hell.
