I've come alot closer to being able to watch the game again. A couple weeks ago I actually brought myself to watch some highlights on youtube and last night I watched the Patriots entrance video on "teamwork" and them taking the field for this game, it is actually great to watch despite knowing what happened after. I actually think someday I will be able to watch it again after thinking no chance I ever would.

not to twist the knife, but on that final drive I think Rodney Harrison's missed opportunity for an interception was worse than Samuel's

Yeah, I thought the same thing. 2 easy picks bouncing off our guy's hands. Then the Helmet Play. It's hard to watch without thinking "What if.."

You're a better man than I if you can watch that game again.

Personally I find that if someone links me a youtube video and I open it to find that it's a clip from 42 (particularly the Tyree catch) I have the exact same reaction as when somebody links me to a porno video: click X as fast as I possibly can without letting anything play.

thanks but i dont feel like vomiting tonight

You guys are better men than me. I will never watch that game again. Once was enough.

i've watched the tyree play a thousand times. it doesn't hurt so much any more but watching the first or second replay of it was bad.

I have not and will not re-watch this game or the Colts conference championship game.

Agreed, I'd rather have both my legs broken than endure those games again.

Mega dittos - I have no interest in watching that game EVER again. I used to gamble a little bit and that game was like having your big bet out on the table and watching it lose. Not an experience I want to re-live.

On another note, it's kind of nice not stressing out about the Super Bowl this year. I'll have myself a nice relaxing day tomorrow instead of worrying about some overpaid athlete not making a play to doom the team's chances or some clueless referee who feels like he wants to be part of the action, calling a PI when the DB had some incidental contact on the receiver on a non-catchable ball on 3rd and 18,turning a win into a loss. And then, after a successful season and losing in the SB, feeling like more of a loser than the teams that didn't even make the playoffs.

The horror...the horror...

If there is one positive to the game...it is seeing Tom Brady out there..although the offense didn't look great in the game...Can't wait to get him out there again leading this team.

no kidding. i watched quite a bit of this tonight. it was almost therapeutic. i cant wait for next season. super bowl 42 was just the beginning as far as im concerned.

Found this on my DVR this morning and promptly deleted it.

Once was enough for me.

I thought so at the time - can't say I've watched it again since.

I think Meriweather also had a shot at a pick after the Tyree catch but it was a tough one.

I am actually watching part of the game now, I don't remember any of it from last year. The Pats defense really played well for much of the first half and kept the Pats in the game. There are a couple of bad calls that hurt the pats. There is the fumble by Bradshaw that is cleary recovered by Woods that is stolen by the giants. That would have been an easy 3 points that the Pats could have had. The running game was terrible. Marroney really stunk. Faulk was playing great as usual. Still can't believe we lost that game.

Why didn't Belichick challenge this?

The refs could not say it's a play you can't challenge.

If a player recovers a ball in the open field, and there's no scrum, then he's down as soon as he's touched by a defender. I can't blame the refs for that call because Belichick didn't challenge it.

I don't know why I watch clips from this game from time to time. Maybe I enjoy pain. I don't know. I think I'm still just in denial over the whole thing. Or I need to see how things went so wrong. I don't know.

What many people don't remember is how close Randy Moss and Tom Brady were to hooking up for what would have been the greatest play in Patriots history. With less than a minute to go and down by 3, Brady heaved one over 70 yards in the air that may have been completed had it not been for a tremendous play by the defender.

That would have been the greatest play in NFL history. I listened to Spagnuolo recount that play over the summer, and how he thought they were done for.

I can watch last year's Super Bowl again because I think the Patriots lost it deservedly.

The Colts game kills me for other reasons. The biggest job I've seen since the Seahawks-Steelers Super Bowl.

The horror...the horror...

at the end of the day you just have to blame the offensive playcalling. this is why i'm not too upset that mcdaniels left. he should have killed the clock on the last drive except he had brady throw it a lot. then he had brady in shotgun the whole night. no adjustments whatsover until it was too late.

The only thing that hurts me so much about the memory, and I was calm and humbled by the outcome, is the loss of history they were so close to capturing.

2 Minutes away from being the GREAT EVER TEAM in history, solidifying as one of the greatest dynasties ever, greatest everything...

So now, with the Steelers in a very winable game, having a chance to tie our championships, in this decade, with history most liekyl looking more favorable towards them...

Imagine if the Pats had this path to a super bowl championship.
- an 8 - 8 team
- a 6th seed
- a 9-7 team.

That right there is a summation of this year, no dominance, no greatness, no story, no excitement, this NFL season has been a let down for all fanbases.

Um, they aren't handing out 2 trophies today. Even if the Steelers win 100-0 tonight, we'll still be up on them 3-2.

even if the steelers win this year and next year, i would say we have the edge on them as the team of the decade because we have a 16-0 regular season, a 21 game winning streak and we've beaten pitt in every game that matters.
