OLB Lee Robinson (Alcorn State, 6-2, 249): He could challenge Owens as the top pick from this game because he's a physical specimen, and he can really play. Scouts value a guy like Robinson who can hold up a pulling guard in space but run with backs in coverage down the sideline.

I see him moving inside and being a primary backup \ special teamer with potential.

Also, a couple of potential Pats prospects have been mentioned in this draft forum - TE Davon Drew & CB Joe Burnett. Here are the practice notes for these two:

Davon Drew(TE- East Carolina) - Drew showed consistent hands and flashed a good stiff arm running after the catch. He also road graded his man five yards out of the play to create one of the biggest holes of the day in 11 on 11s.

Davon Drew(TE- East Carolina) - Drew hit the deck a lot today, sprawling to make attempts at errant passes or trying to make tough grabs in traffic. His athleticism is still apparent, getting off the line quickly and into his routes, and he did come down with a few of those contested balls.

Davon Drew (TE-East Carolina) made an athletic, leaping catch, only to have Reshard Langford(S-Vanderbilt) separate him from the ball. Drew later did a good job sitting down in a soft spot to make a play.

Joe Burnett(CB-Central Florida) - As expected, Burnett mirrored wide receivers as well as any corner at this game, and he also showed good aggressiveness and instincts in run support.

Joe Burnett(CB-Central Florida) - Burnett continues to look like a veteran among youngsters, jumping Nick Moore's comeback way too easily (it would have been an interception if it wasn't a poorly thrown ball), and generally knowing what the wide receiver is going to do at the moment he does it. Burnett drives on the ball in flight well and always competes hard to break up passes without making plays that would draw obvious penalties. We haven't got a chance to see him return kicks and punts yet this week, but it will be a big part of Burnett's value to his eventual NFL team. Burnett is definitely one of the five or ten best players at this game.

CB Burnett has been mentioned numerous times by myself as one of my favorite CBs. Currently, he's my unofficial sleeper pick at the CB position. Will wait on the Combine to seal the envelope.

I'm with you -- in fact, I almost put him in the "deep sleeper" thread but I decided he wasn't "deep" enough.

Some intriguing words on Robinson from NFLDraftScout:

Positives: Good height and upper-body strength. ... Can bull rush and rip from running back/tight end blocks. ... Nice closing speed, runs downhill to attack ballcarriers. ... Often lines up outside the defensive end in a rushing stance to take advantage of his explosiveness. ... Uses his hands to keep cut blocks off his knees. ... Fights through trash inside to get to the ballcarrier. ... Will hustle down plays. ... Team leader on and off the field.

Also keep an eye on OT Cornelius Lewis. He's a FSU transfer who by accounts dominated at Tennessee St. last year.

Joseph finds the ball well, he's been kept clean by the DL and hasn't needed to engage OL to get to the ball carrier, but I don't get the impression that he'd shy away from the contact like some.

Burnett hasn't jumped out at me yet, I'll have to see how he looks when I replay the game.

Moore hasn't done so much. Yonus Davis of San Jose State is the little engine that could in this game. Bernard Scott of Abilene Christian is the standout RB.

Davon Drew had a nice TD catch, and a couple drops. Ryan Purvis of BC is the kid who has done the most to impress me at TE in any of the All-Star games, this includes Shawn Nelson and Brandon Pettigrew.

Dominique Edison - Small School Pick who has big potential. Much like Marques Colston. Edison is 6'2 and 200 lbs and runs in the low 4.4s.

Good: Elite speed and good upper body strength. Catches with his hands, not his body. Very good in and out of routes. Does not round them off. Good Body Control and willing to fight for the ball on Crossing routes. Willing Run blocker.

Bad: Played against small school talent and overmatched the competition handedly. Played in a spread offense. Didn't blossom until his senior year, but did he ever blossom. Doesn't have a lot of wiggle in his hips. Inexperienced as a kick returner.

Hodge flashed power playing downhill, I need to replay the game and key on him to see how he did in coverage but he he gets gigged for his coverage in draftnik reports.

I didn't notice Burnett during the game so I need to rewatch just for him, he might have been tight on his assignment and the QBs never went near him or he might have been burned and the announcers who were too busy poking fun at each other didn't analyze the play - right now I dunno.

Maybe they are playing slower than their speed?

I know a kid like Deleston who weighs 220 runs a 4.55, so that's plenty fast.

As for Norwood from Penn State, I know he is not a burner.

I would take him over Derrick Williams and Deon Butler however. Norwood runs VERY precise routes, has incredible hands, and he can take a hit. If Derrick Williams is OJ McDuffie, then Norwood is Brian Engram.

Wow, the scouts at that link thought William Beatty had a soft personality from interviews. Never heard that one before.

Q: Mr. Beatty, if a defensive end punches you upside the head, how do you respond?

A: I do not believe in an eye-for-an-eye. I try to reason with him, and let him know he should not do that.

Frank Summers = instant fan favorite. I was disappointed in watching him play FB (seemed hesitant and much less aggressive than when he ran the ball), but he would be fun to watch. Seems a better receiver than BJGE, but more needs to be seen.

intrigued by DE/OLB Julius Williams. Would like to see him in camp.
