Reminder on the Patriots 2009 cap space

Until it is known how much money was earned in escalators the amount of Patriot cap space will be understated

Wilfork - as much as $5 million - Wilfork's 2008 salary was increased by $700,000 because of escalators. In my cap page I am presuming that Wilfork has at least earn the same amount in 2009.
Watson - as much as $3.6 million - Watson's 2008 salary was increased by $125,000 because of escalators.In my cap page I am presuming that he has at least earn the same amount in 2009.
Hobbs - maximum escalator amount unknown - Hobbs' 2008 salary was increased by $940,000 because of escalators.In my cap page I am presuming that he has at least earn the same amount in 2009.
Kaczur - maximum escalator amount unknown - Kaczur's 2008 salary was increased by $740,000 because of escalators. In my cap page I am presuming that he has at least earn the same amount in 2009.
Hochstein - as much as $800,000
Yates - as much as $200,000
Green - as much as $1.9 million
Mankins - maximum escalator amount unknown. One has to presume that it is more than $940, 000 since Mankins went higher in the draft than did Hobbs.
David Thomas - escalator to low RFA tender ($1,010,000) from a salary of $530,000 - a $480,000 increase
Le Kevin Smith - escalator to low RFA tender ($1,010,000) from a salary of $530,000 - a $480,000 increase

Please clarify 'understated'. Are you estimating on the high end, or worst case, so each actual # will lower cap cost and increase cap room, or will each of these increase cap cost beyond what you have estimate.
In other words, is it correct that 'until the cap SPACE is understated' did you mean cap EXPENDITURES are understated.

Example. A report may say that the Pats are currently under the 2009 projected cap by $25 million. If the report depends on the current 2009 salaries of Wilfork which is now $800,000, that report will overstate the amount of cap space as it is very likely that Wilfork's 2009 salary will be increased due to earned escalators.
