But we already have a very fast, not yet strong enough pass rusher in Shawn Crable. Why would we need a Crable-clone?
He's not a Crable clone. Maybin is a much more highly ranked prospect. Crable was ranked a 3rd rounder and that's where we drafted him. I'm not even sure if Maybin will make it to #23.
From fans perpective, he didn't stand out in the Rose Bowl. He is known for pass rush and had good stats last season, but so did Victor Butler who could be drafted in the later rounds. What you think?
Maybin?...On the other hand, Maybin not.
the pats will draft maybin
other players they will also draft:
FB: mailei
DT: magee
LB: maiava

There is no way that Aaron Maybin played at more than 240 pounds for Penn State. He was listed at 236 until he started getting looks from the NFL.
I’ll be interested to see his combine numbers if he weighs in around 250.

Joe: Good call, Maybin is actually training about 10 min. from where I live. I have heard he is trying to put on enough weight to play as a down DE in a 4-3. But as for now I think he needs to play as an outside linebacker. We will see at the combine though.
Coach Woicik will need a year with him, but there's hope. That whole article including comments is worth reading. I was interested to see him high on Everette Pedescleaux, a kid who instantly leaps out on any scan of size/speed for a DE (and was recruited to play college basketball, too, which speaks to his athleticism).
