'Bill Belichick was hired by Chairman and CEO Robert Kraft on Jan. 27, 2000 and is in his ninth season as Patriots head coach in 2008. In his first eight seasons in New England, Belichick has delivered three Super Bowl championships, four conference titles, six division crowns and 14 playoff victories, while posting an overall record of 105-40. Belichick directed the Patriots to victories in Super Bowls XXXVI (2001), XXXVIII (2003) and XXXIX (2004), and claimed the 2007 AFC Championship. New England's 14 playoff victories in the 2000s are tied for the highest total in any decade in NFL history.'

Happy Anniversary! :D

Not a bad hire by Mr Kraft.....;)

Need to keep adding to the 14 play off victories.. I see three in the very near future.

Hmmmm a rather tidy resume,I believe, lets keep him around for a while..

Yeah really. Dont see that many other coaches who have that kind of resume in the past 9 years....Come to think of it...I dont think there is ANY coach in the NFL who can do what BB has done.

GO PATS!!

Belichick is nothing more than a system coach ;)

Dungee is the only other coach with a similar resume in the past nine years, not as good as Belichick's, but certainly similar. Dungee's is a bit more consistent, but he has won fewer Super Bowls.

And its all about the Lombardi in the end...

I understand that for many all that matters is the Super Bowl. In the choice below, many would choose the Super Bowl. For them, the Buffalo Bills who lost four Super Bowls in a row were a bunch of losers. Others list that team as one of the best of all time. It is a matter of choice and perspective.

CHOICE FOR A DECADE
1) 9 losing seasons, one Super Bowl when all goes right (ala 2001)
2) 9 playoffs, several divisions, and a conference championship, but no Super Bowls

And its all about the Lombardi in the end...

Amazing to think back now that a couple of games in to his second season with the Pats that there were so many who figured he'd be gone by the end of that year.

I was like 8 months out of college back then.

Wow-does time fly like crazy!

Of course, they haven't always played as many play-off games. Prior to Super Bowl I, the NFL Champions only played two rounds, ditto the old AFL. And prior to that, there was only 1 play-off game, the NFL Championship. So this comparison is only valid back to when a 5th, and later a 6th team, was added.
