Actually this subject came up once in a thread on PatriotsPlanet about different conspiracy theories, and I weighed in on it then as I will do now.
When I was in college, one night a guy we knew who worked in the science building and had keys to the observatory took us up there and showed us the American flag on the moon. Now, if our astronauts didn't put it there, how the hell did it get there??? Unless you expect me to believe that there's a worldwide conspiracy among all astronomers to have View-Master slides in their telescopes to make us believe it's up there when it ain't.
