No debate here. I defer to your expertise in the matter of how the Patriots' balls are cared for.
My point is that with a significant chance of Seymour being gone in a year, drafting a potential replacement is not necessarily silly.
Most teams don't have the majority of their starters signed 2 years out. Its too risky to have everyone on the team signed long term.
