Andy posted on a KFFL newswire today that LaMont Jordan was saying how he enjoyed his time here and will probably play elsewhere in 2009 but if he leaves it will be because of business decisions and not discontent.

While this is only a report by Hart and not set in stone,I myself think Jordan will not be back,After all he really only had one solid game which was way back in week 2 against the Jets, other than that he sat with a bad calf for nearly 3 months and never really came back with the power he showed very early on.

I think when healthy Jordan has the power of a horse running up the middle of the field, but still I think its best to let him look elsewhere first and then maybe resign him for low $$$ if interest is not there,He seems to be too risky for another extensive injury in 2009.

I would rather let him go and look for maybe a FA with some experience and decent stats like a Cedric Benson,Dedrick Ward or Chris Perry or maybe take a RB in the late rounds of the draft like a Herb Donaldson or an Andre Brown type bruiser.

I thought Lamont played good for us when he played even after he returned. But I think we have enough band aides in the RB group as is. Morris and Maroney get hurt enough we don't need a third one. Plus ideally you would like to improve each position in same fashion each year and I think Maroney has shown enough skill to warrant another chance and Morris and Faulk definitely have roles so Lamont really is the only place to upgrade the RB spot

Law Firm. If he's able to stick, he's a long-term, low-cost solution.

Andy talked a lot last season about how Lamont never really fit in with the team and would sleep at his locker for most of (if not all) the media time in the locker room and seemed distant from his teammates.

Not surprising, and not really detrimental either - it was running back by committee last year, lets home Sammy is healthy and, dare I say it, LM gives us something positive to talk about.

Cedrick Benson? CEDRICK BENSON?

CHRIS PERRY?

Both of those players are well below replacement level. Seriously, they'd be downgrades on Lawfirm.

Lamont Jordan is leaving? Shonn Greene anyone?

I actually think Law Firm sold himself to the Pats, and they got the rest of the value they could out of Lamont whilst he showcased himself for another team.

BJGE is in, imo.

So would pots of gold at the end of rainbows and unicorns. ;)

I don't remember him being great even when healthy though.

I have to agree with you on this one. LM, Morris and the lawfirm are good we just need to ad a late round scat back with some speed. Mike Goodson, Texas A&M I think we can get in the 5th or 6th and from what I have seen on tape. Jordan is expendable but did play well late in the year which will get him a contract somewhere.

yup. That was one of my camp battles going into TC. If Jordan is gone that leaves the final four Maroney, Morris, Faulk, and Lawfirm. Lawfirm is not eligible for the PS next year so it was 53 or bust.

If Jordan is gone and maybe Maroney I wouldn't mind another RB in the late rounds. There's always a solid RB we can pick up and give as much as these two when they weren't hurt at the time.

LoMo will come good.... or I hope so ;)

I think so too. He's shown the ability in the past.

I liked Jordan this year but you can't say he was critical to the team's success. Honestly though I would prefer a smashmouth combo of him and Morris + Faulk instead of Maroney + Morris + Faulk. I just prefer that kind of running game, especially to complement our high-flying passing attack.

Iam hoping maroney will blossom later on in his career like Kevin faulk.

Let's just pick up LT. Between Maroney's dancing and LT's crying, it will be like the movie Showgirls.

I'm not sure losing Jordan is the worst thing in the world. I like the idea of Jordan, but not so much the execution. A healthy duo of Maroney and Morris, with a little law firm and Faulk should do us well enough should Maroney just hit the f*ing hole.

I'm happy with BJGE getting some more touches.

I'd like them all, but I understand if he wants to make money or they don't have room.

Saw that KFFL snippet and I'd say that's a really badly slanted and edited version of Andy Hart's article, if it came from here (scroll to second half).
