Pretty cool stuff.

New England is currently in the midst of a remarkable run of sustained success as the only NFL team to have a winning record in each of the last eight seasons. The Patriots are one of just two teams in NFL history to win three Super Bowls in a four-year span, and in 2007 became the only team in NFL history to complete a regular season with a 16-0 record. The team now plays its home games at state-of-the-art Gillette Stadium, a 68,756-seat facility that opened in 2002. Patriots fans are among the most loyal and passionate fans in the country, selling out each home game since 1994. In 2008, the team unveiled The Hall at Patriot Place presented by Raytheon, a cutting-edge, 36,000-square-foot experience showcasing the tradition of the New England Patriots, providing a home for the team's hall of fame and exploring the history of football in New England.

Now all they need to do is get Vrabel to model it. :D

Definitely gonna buy some 50th season gear.

Look above :D

It's been 15 years and I'm still not used to the Flying Elvis logo.

Get rid of it, it's done, it's over. Just badly done.

I don't mind the silver helmets or the new jerseys, blue is in some ways much better than red, but incorporating the old logo (or coming up with a new one) wouldn't be a bad idea. Even the old minuteman hat logo is better.

I love the Old Logo IMO it was the best in all sports but I like the new one too it doesn't stack up as the best in all sports but I like it.

IMO, I love the flying elvis.

Above all, it's the best symbol for AMERICAN sports. There isn't a single more patriotic logo.

It signifies winning. I realize tradition, hell I have my my own Pat Patriot helmet. I respect history, where you come from, etc. But the elvis signifies domination. winning. Brady, Kraft, Belichick.

It's here to stay and I think it's a badass logo. JMO. I'm also 18, so realize I've grown up on it.

I love the Elvis also. Admittedly I'm a "new" fan, having converted in '96 (thanks to the Browns for moving; THANK YOU GOD, THANK YOU) and Belichick coming over to Foxboro so maybe that's the reason but I really like the new one better than the old one.

:agree:

As a matter of fact, there was at least one writer who argued that the Lions should adopt new unis for 2009 just so they can dissociate from the disaster that was 2008.

Love the 50th logo!

As far as Flying Elvis vs Pat Patriot is concerned, I'm paranoid. Too many good things have happened under the Flying Elvis. Too many bad things happened under Pat Patriot. So we need to keep the Elvis.

But just from a eye preference I liked the Pat Patriot better than the Elvis. But we have to keep the Elvis.:scared:

Reiss' blog (written by Dave LeFort) has a vote section as to which logo you like best. So far Pat Patriot's in the lead:

I'm kind of surprised by the totals. Really didn't expect Pat to be kicking Elvis's tail by such a margin. By the way, better link directly to the poll: Patriots unveil 50th season logo - Reiss' Pieces - Boston.com

What?!? Badly done? Wow, I think it's one of the most dynamic, memorable, and well done logos in professional sports. I think it's badass, and I'm far from 18 . ;)

While I own more Pat Patriot stuff, I prefer the Elvis because I associate Pat Patriot with so many years of anguish, mediocrity, embarrassment, and losing. When the Elvis first came out, I didn't care for it right away (and hated that original electric blue) but it grew on me quickly, and now it's something I associate with pride, excellence, and dominant victory. :D

So that goes to support the old adage winning cures everything

It is a cool logo, capitalism at it's finest.. Mr. Kraft smiles..

Flying Elvis was introduced the year before Kraft bought the team. You can credit Mr. Orthwein for our current logo.

That is true... But the majority of this thread is off-topic and has become a Pat Patriot vs. Flying Elvis debate. Darryl didn't say which logo he was referring to.

Oh, I hope you don't think I was referring to you in any negative manner. I meant the timing of the logo and who was in control.

I'm already saving some money for some 50th season merchandise! :D
