The draft will have a lot to do with Rosie's future in NE.

I've always liked the guy - A part of me wants him back and another part (the more rational side) hopes we draft ourselves into a position where we do not need him.

I hear you, but before the injury Colvin was really coming into his own in the Pats scheme. While he wasn't the stud pass rusher a lot of people were expecting, he was doing everything well. He will turn 32 at that start of this season so he isn't over the hill quite yet.

There are some interesting 3-4 OLB/DE hybrid types in this draft, but I wouldn't count on any of them being overly productive for the Pats in 2009. Getting a healthy Colvin on a reasonable 1-2 year deal could be a nice bridge to the Crable/Redd/etc. group in the future.

Re: Colvin On EEI @ 1:00 pm

Goodbye Rosie.:snob:

Re: Colvin On EEI @ 1:00 pm

Anyone listen/listening? What's he saying?

Re: Colvin On EEI @ 1:00 pm

Sum up the part we are interested in he said he was a Free Agent and was unsure of what his future holds.

Than they went on to talk about Obama.

Still talking so there could be more.

Lot of goofing around.

Re: Colvin On EEI @ 1:00 pm

Now he is talking about the SB match up

and really giving credit to the Steelers de and not so much to the Cardnals and is talking a little about the Cards-Pats match up.

He was saying how the Cards Playoff wins have been VS 4-3 teams and that they could struggle vs a 3-4 team where it will be harder to pick out the rushers. Really interesting to hear him go into the differences between the 2. Nothing we haven't heard before but still fun and interesting to hear it from a player.

HAHAHA they were talking about Ellis Hobbs III who just had a kid Ellis Hobbs IV

Signbabyhobbs anyone???

Talking about how Ellis talks about Ellis in the third person and how he is real confident in himself......pretty funny stuff

Re: Colvin On EEI @ 1:00 pm

I hope he's at least in camp this spring.

Re: Colvin On EEI @ 1:00 pm

Please be aware that these comments are my reading between the lines of what I just heard.

He was saying that he was in town to sum up the year and IMO get his belongings. Sounded like he talked to the orginization about the future but was pretty clueless about it on the radio show. So my assumption is that the Pats told him how much they respect him and apreciate the things he has done for the team but that they would be looking at other options first. It didn't sound like he was ruling New England out but it also didn't seem like he was optimistic about returning. And again he did not say anything specific to this like.

Well, according to Colvin, Hobbs hasn't lost his confidence....

Re: Colvin On EEI @ 1:00 pm

Like it or not our D got better when he and Junior came back - heck we even called the occasional blitz:D

Man, T-Shirt hates it when athletes do that.

But they came back after a major slump, making the improvement more obvious. Still, there's a reason Bill likes vets. And they're often affordable.

The two of them have always been pretty tight...

Re: Colvin On EEI @ 1:00 pm

Colvins better days are behind him.. I had fun cheering for him but its time to move on.. The defense needs a major retooling and OLB, CB & Safety are the 3 most important positions to target..

That is true, but out D was BEST when Rodney and Adaluis were healthy. The late season defense was pretty difficult to judge given the weather and the teams we were playing.

Ok, I will give them credit for Arizona.

Re: Colvin On EEI @ 1:00 pm

People seem to forget that the Cardinals were playing for absolutely nothing.

I know. It made me wonder why we didn't get these guys sooner.
I can understand Juniors' case because at his age it's best to use him mid to late season where he can stay fresh for the play offs....
....well he would have been fresh for the play offs.:p
