I hate the steelers, especially since one of their fans invented the bernard Pollard fan club t shirt.

I wanted to get your views on whether or not you think the steelers are one of the NFL's elite teams or just a myth. They were notorious for taking steriods and other substances in the 70s. Those substances were not banned until later (1989), but they were clearly performance enhancing and is not the same as lifting weights. To me, steroids is far worse than video taping. we video taped but whether it helped the team or not is questionable especially since we had two winning seasons after we got caught.

Something tells me the steelers D this year is just a product of steroids and HGH.

Talent, drive, and intelligent play-calling are not a result of steroids. I'm not saying none of the Steelers do steroids, I have no information regarding that, but it's very foolish to attribute success simply to steroids.

Pathetic. Enough said.

Stop. I hate the Steelers as much as anyone but that defense is what we should all want ours to be. The only thing that bothers me about them is that they haven't had to go through us in the playoffs to get to either of their 21st century Superbowls, that's extremely irritating. It's like the Redskins in the 80s winning those 2 titles without having to go through San Fran, pretenders to the crown.

I wish them luck though, it's the sporting thing to do, although I hope the Cardinals roll them.

Like it or not, they are clearly a dynasty, I'd go so far as to say the greatest NFL dynasty. They're on their way to a 6th Super Bowl title, they've been in 14 AFCCG's and have been a very good team every decade since the 70's, the only team to have at least one Super Bowl appearance in the past 4 decades.

You are talking close to 40 years of excellence, noone can top that, end of story........

If they win...Dynasty. Patriots fans, face the facts, this isn't 2001-2004 anymore. The Steelers are the class to beat in the AFC Now. That D is pretty darn good. Sure, people will bash me and say...hey, who was in the supper bowl last year....ya ok...but what wins supper bowls???????????? Defense..... The Patriots need to upgrade there D to get past the Steelers the next few years to come.

How are they a dynasty? IMO, a dynasty is a franchise who wins World Championships, and they last won in 2005. They have been very good, but the benchmark for dynasties are WC's.

No, sorry. If you win and then win again next year, you might be up for dynasty consideration. But winning one, not winning a playoff game for two years, and then winning another one doesn't make you even close to a dynasty.

I would say if the Steelers win, the "dynasty" label is up for grabs during the 2009 season between NE and Pittsburgh. Neither team would be truly deserving. The Pats haven't won since 2004 and the Steelers would have only won 2 this decade. I think any team claiming to have a "dynasty" should be able to successfully defend their title. The Pats have done this, and if they take it next year that's 4 in a decade. On the other hand if the Steelers do it again that's 3/5 with a repeat, and that would be deserving.

Actually they were pretty bad in the 80s. Mark Malone, followed by Bubby Brister... Ugh.

Really? Are the 04-07 Red Sox a dynasty? Exact same thing, title, miss playoffs one year, no playoff wins the next, title. Didn't think so.

Our Rodney was on HGH too as well as Kaczur with situations involving drugs usage so lets stop the whole NFL is wrong and the Patriots are right Bullsh!t

Did you read what I wrote? 14 AFCCG's, 7 Super Bowls, lining up for their 6th win, only an epic gag job will prevent it. And our home town team hasn't won a "WC" as you call it in four years, so what is your point really.

Name me another team in the NFL with a better resume the past 35 or so years, I'm all ears.................

Let's slow down with the 40-year dynasty talk. The Steelers went 26 years between #4 and #5.

2005. Oh...THAT long ago

Ok, and the Patriots went 41 years before they got their first one, but you wouldn't know that since you've been a fan for what, 7 years? And shouldn't you be watching Lakers/Cavs instead of posting here?

It's ok to acknowledge another teams greatness, doesn't make you any less of a fan of your team if you do..............

Good morning, jackazz. No Pats fan is claiming a 40-year dynasty. Only a Steeler fan would. Reminds me of Celtics fans trying to connect the '08 title to the 60s/70s/80s.

It would be hilarious if AZ whooped you....Karma indeed :)

Please explain how the Steelers late 70's dynasty is at all connected to today's team other than the fact that they are the same franchise? It isn't a dynasty now, it was then. The Celtics analogy is the best one I've seen and they only went 22 years between titles compared to the Steelers 26, the Celtics 08 title and any they win in the future aren't connected to their 80's teams just like the 86 team had nothing to do with the Celtics 60's title teams other than Red. The Steelers are the most successful franchise of the post merger era, and no one is debating that but the current Steelers aren't a dynasty, the 70's Steelers were.

I have to say that the Steelers of the 70's was a dynasty, but now they are just one championship every few years

San Francisco 49ers 1980-1995 with 5 Bowl Victories.

Dallas Cowboys in the 1990's

New England is still the team of the 21st Century whether the Steelers win in two weeks or not.
