It's largely irrelevant to me as winning the division gets us in the playoffs and only two games per team are different for our division rivals. That said, Miami and the Jets records are way overstated here IMO given that they played the same easy schedule we did last year. As long as Brady is OK we'll be the favorite in every game.

Not sure of relevance, but it seems as though we play to the level of competition.. the better the competition, the better we play..

It will be a tougher schedule, for sure. NFC south had all teams in contention this year. But teams change a lot in this league. For example, the Broncos and Chiefs already got a lot of administrative help this offseason

It looks brutal on paper, but I generally think that with Brady healthy, we're still way so far ahead of any team except the Colts or Giants that it's going to be just fine. Look at the conference championships this weekend...there just aren't a lot of good teams in the league right now.

Besides, a few years ago when it meant something to be in the AFC, and we were playing quality opponents nearly every week, we won 21 straight games. So, I'm still confident.

This reminds me of something Geno Auriemma (UConn women's basketball coach) once said: "Last year, it was 'We've got Diana [Taurasi], and you don't.' This year, it was 'We're Connecticut, and you're not.'"

Until last year, you could sum things up as "We've got Brady, and you don't." I think, after 2008, it can be said, "We're New England, and you're not."

ATL, Carolina, Baltimore, Tennessee have all been ridiculously inconsistent in recent years. I could see any of those teams having a down season next year. Balt and ATL to a lesser degree since they appear to have the answer at QB now, but even that can change within a year (Derek Anderson, David Garrard). And I can see the Jets being a doormat for most teams next season. Barring another catastrophical injury we are going to sweep the division fairly easy.

Healthy Brady = 13-3 regardless of how those teams pan out next season.

It certainly looks like if we had played this schedule in 2008 it would have been tougher to go 11-5. While interesting to look at, it really doesn't mean anything more than that.

The league changes so much from year to year from a front office, coaching, and personnel standpoint that basing anything off the records of the year before doesn't work anymore.

If you look at 2007 records, you'd have put a 3 game stretch this year with Miami, Atlanta, and Carolina in the easy category since the 3 of them combined for 12 wins in 2007. They won 34 between them in 2008.

Because of the asinine way the schedule makers assigned the 1-vs.-1 games. For the AFC East v. AFC South, it went like this:

2003: play entire AFC South
2004: same rank only, AFC South @ AFC East
2005: same rank only, AFC South @ AFC East
2006: play entire AFC South
2007: same rank only, AFC East @ AFC South
2008: same rank only, AFC East @ AFC South
2009: play entire AFC South

Not only Brady will be back but check this out...

Wilhite will have a full year of experiance in the system.

Wheatley and Crable will be back almost like there rookie season all over again.

Meriweather's getting better and better, I expect strong probowl consideration for him.

Plus the draft, right now we have our 1 1st rd pick, 2 in the 2nd round, and our 3rd. Add on another 3rd rounder for Assante, and possibly another 1st for Cassel if everything goes to plan.

Ive always been excited about the draft but I dont remember a time when we have so many picks in the first couple of rounds.

As someone posted, we should be a strong favorite to win the division. Playing a weak schedule is of advantage in considering wild card and seeding. I think that we may gain more playing a tougher schedule.

Agreed. Entire AFC East is likely to do worse next year than this, with the exception of the Patriots. Miami might stay about even, as it's year two of the reorganization there, but I suspect they won't win quite 11 games either.
