Lil help plz my work comp wont let me access that site....

Ok, here's an excerpt.

WDAE's Steve Duemig Friday night is reporting that Raheem Morris, recently elevated to defensive coordinator, will be named the new head coach. Also Mark Dominik, the team's director of pro personnel, will be the GM.

Duemig also says the decision of the team ownership to fire Gruden came after some discussions with Buccaneer players.

Who and who replaced Gruden and the other guy?

Never heard of either 1 of them before.

I see a corkscrew downwards fast.

In house.

Gruden never had a chance in that town. I lived there for 8 years until recently and he never even got credit for taking the team to the Super Bowl. You think St. Dungy had a halo in Indy?

He was left with an aging defense and started dumping like he should, but was given no leeway by the locals. His acquisitions were weak too, he wasn't great at that (he had some voice in the groceries).

First off, the owner wanted Parcells, not him and paid a ridiculous ransom to Al Davis.

All in all, bad fit, weird fanbase. I guess getting a SB and a learning experience isn't all bad. He'll be a good coach with a better personnel guy.

Wow, some high profile coaches on the market this year.

He interviewed for Denver along with Josh didn't he, or it might have been someone else. Meant to be a bit of a defensive guru and also has to be the fastest rise in Football, DC for a week to Head Coach. :D

Did Raheem Morris ever play for the Colts? Or am I thinking of Raheem Brock... or maybe someone else.

Anyway, I feel bad for the poor soul that has to take that job. The entire team has aged and aged fast. The production of their defense in the latter part of the year showed that. Was some of that missed production the fault of Monte Kiffin following his son to Tennessee? Maybe. But it had a lot to do with age too. Whomever takes over that job is looking at COMPLETELY cleaning house in a couple of years and building up draft picks.

I live down here in the Tampa Bay area and Ray Clay hit the nail on the head. Gruden never had a chance, unless he won a SB every year. The media didn't like him and the local fans followed like sheep. Though he was far from perfect, it was a case of a mediocre FO combined with unrealistic expectations from the locals.

It's funny watching this unfold because nationwide the attitude seems to be 'why fire a guy with back-to-back winning seasons' while the locals are saying 'should have happened a year or two ago.'

Before all this occured I thought the person that should have been replaced was the head of their scouting - and now he's the new GM. Combine that with a new HC who has never even been an DC.

Can't wait to hear the excuses next year.
