Gostkowski only Patriot to make SN's All-Pro team (and Jenkins over Wilfork)

But I found it irritating that Kris Jenkins would make it in over Big Vince.
Jenkins: 50 Tackles, 37 solo, 3.5 sacks
Wilfork: 66 Tackles, 45 solo, 2 sacks

Not to discredit Jenkins, I think he had a monster year, but I still think Vince was better.

Jenkins over Wilfork is a joke in so many ways its not even funny. The guy played like **** over the 2nd half of the season, just couldnt man up to the position if you ask me. Monster year? go ask Jet fans what they thought about his play the last 6 to 8 games monster more like teddy bear.

Didn't know Wilfork had that many tackles. That is amazing for a nose tackle.

Alright, monster year, was an overstatement as my anti-homer reflex kicked in. He had a hell of a better year in the Jests 3-4 than I expected, and was playing hurt those last 6 games wasn't he?

Hell... Shaun Rogers had 76 tackles, 61 total, and 4.5 sacks from the nose tackle position. That's pretty damn beastly too.

Jenkins was more to the Jets than WIlfork is to the Pats. As soon as Jenkins injuried his hip, their defense fell apart.. Stats don't tell everything and as Pats fans we know that better than anyone (Richard Symour)..

Jenkins has no one else on that line to help him out.. He was doubled all year..

Up to the titans game he was a bonafide NFL DPOTY candidate, after that a bad hip, back and lack of help on his d-line lead to his play dropping off noticeably. For the first 11 games he was an unblockable force of nature.

Im not saying he had a better year then Wilfork but it helps when you have other d-line men who can draw double teams as well dont you think? Im not pinpointing this as the single reason he wore down but it played a huge role. Ellis was good last year and Kenyon Coleman was non existant. For the first 11 games of the season it was Jenkins>Wilfork IMO just based on the run defense alone

The Pat's defense this past season ranged from fairly decent to terrible. As much as I love Wilfork, and I do think he's a top three nose tackle in this league, he doesn't belong on any All Pro list.

Casey Hampton of the Steelers plays on a much better defense and while his stats don't add up to Wilfork's he plays nose in the 3-4 for the best defense in the league. I'm guessing there's a direct correlation to the dominence of their linebackers and the play up front of Casey.

We also have Haloti Ngata of the Ravens. Another nose tackle on a dominant defense who put up similar numbers to Wilfork. I would actually argue that Ngata deserves the All Pro owners more than any other player not named Haynesworth.

Jenkins is overrated as an All Pro and definately not the player Wilfork is but I think the real snubs came against Ngata and Hampton.

Jenkins and Rogers and those other guys are good, but Wilfork is the best Nose Tackle in this league. Period.

I too think that Wilfork is better than Jenkins. But, as people have already said, Jenkins was all on his lonesome on that defensive line for the Jets. Wilfork has the help of Seymour and Warren but he is the anchor on that line. It is Wilfork who makes it so that Warren and Seymour are capable of doing what they need to do. IMO, that vote is a wash. You can take either Wilfork or Jenkins and still have a pretty damn good NT for an All-Pro team.
