Dave Meggett has officially become the former Patriot I am most ashamed of

He's also a deadbeat dad. He abandoned his son, Davin, who currently plays for Maryland.

He's a former Jet, too.

So who is the Patriot you unofficially became ashamed of?

Yeah but if it were drugs he'd have been in jail a long time ago. :idea2:

Nobody (except for maybe you) thinks of him as a "former Patriot". Nationally, he'll always be thought of as a Giant.

Notice that nobody said, "TWO former Red Sox made the Hall of Fame" this week.

So Meggett didn't play for the Pats? Somebody wore his jersey back in 1995-1997. It is horrible that I can't remember who that guy was now since he did make the Pro Bowl in 1996.

Sorry, he is a former Patriot, Giant, and Jet. The Pats count Nick Buonacotti as a former Patriot when they count the number of Patriots in the HOF (even put him in the Pats' HOF) eventhough most of the nation classify him as a former Dolphin. Meggett is a stain to all three franchises.

Meggett is #1
Danny Villa is #2
Zeke Mowatt #3
Hart Lee Dykes #4
Kenyatta Jones #5

Terry Glenn is up there too.

I think Michael Timpson and Robert Perryman have to be up on that scale with Mowatt...that WAS one of the low points in Patriot history. Not sure why Dykes was included in all of that..

Bet I know who Bills fans would choose. 49er fans too!

If I recall, Dykes started a fight with Irving Fryar and suffered a fractured eye-socket which essentially ended his career. He got nailed for DWI in Franklin once too and had a hooker in the car. Additionally, as a recruit he took cash at OK State. Fryar was a bad boy early in his career, but he was still productive with the Pats. I just remember Dykes being a real horse's you-know-what and irresponsible.

What was Timpson's and Perryman's deal? Were they also mentioned in the Lisa Olson thing? It's funny. I played B-Ball with Perryman once at Cederdale Athletic Club in Haverhill, MA once. Real nice guy. Prooves to show that you just dont know people.

Just read that Timpson and Perryman were both fined 5k for sex harrassment. Tried to forget...

Well, he may held that honor for years, but the guy has been charged with raping two different women in six months. This guy is real scumbag and a sexual predator. How is this guy not in jail yet. This marks the fifth time he has been arrested for sexually based offenses.

I heard that too-they were discussing it on EEI. I had to get out of the car so I never caught the whole discussion but they were listing off his past sexual offenses. His * needs to be nailed and jailed:mad:

You mentioned another guy who was omitted from the list. Irving Fryar may have turned his life and career around in Miami and Philly, but he was a disgrace here. From getting into a fight with his wife and getting his finger cut right before the AFC Championship to getting thrown out of a game and crashing his car while the game was going on, the guy was a a selfish, primadonna. Even though he was pretty good after he left, I was always happy he was gone. Granted he was not top of my list.

Agree 100% . He was all of those things and more in his time here. I guess I've chosen to remember Fryar the way he is now and not what he was in his time at NE. Great points.

Guys like (different talent levels) OJ Simpson and Dave Meggett hurt particularly when they go bad just because they were such unique, special talents when they did play.

Meggett was a lot like Kevin Faulk with a better passer rating.
