FARINELLA: Don't worry, be happy Broncos - The Sun Chronicle Online - Sports

You look at the Patriots' situation right now - coaches leaving left and right, Scott Pioli heading for Kansas City, key players nearing retirement and Tom Brady's knee still a question mark - and you wonder if, at 57 years of age in April and with nine seasons as head coach behind him, Belichick will have the energy and enthusiasm to undergo a complete, top-to-bottom rebuilding before retirement beckons.

Josh McDaniels as the Patriots' next head coach might have been a nice alternative.

put this in the knee jerk+hate for BB category

You had to know someone was going to write it.

What key players do we have nearing retirement? This guy needs to be more specific. All I can think of in that category possibly is Vrabel. Bruschi is not a key player and Rodney, if he comes back, will be a role guy. Anyone else is at least two-three seasons away from hanging it up.

I would say those are the 3 he owuld be speaking of. Bruschi and Rodney having lesser roles now doesn't mean they were not key players. But this h=guy is reaching for any reason to knock this team down and he is out there with this one so........

Re-building is something that I don't ever see happening with the Pats under BB. Once he's had a chance to put his system in place, it is a constant process of refining and reloading. This is one the big differences between the Pats organization and others organizations, which is the key in the salary cap era. You can never rest, constantly evaluating your roster, what's available/may be available, and college prospects. The "pipeline" as it's been called. And no one does it better than BB.

according to farinella the patriots are "decomposing". i don't think so.

I'm sorry, I must have missed something: does BB fear a challenge all of a sudden? Does he drive to work thinking, Golly, I wish I could go golfing today?

"Hang it up" and do what? The man's been involved in coaching since he could watch film with his father. Farinella. Do a modicum of research, get one - one - source before insulting us with this offal.
