Right - thanks for the run; as to the future, no wishes of luck coming from me, he's part of "the other 31" now.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Everyone openly hates us, but then tries to copy us and steal away our personnel/coaches, hoping to recreate the magic.

Good luck SP.

That's right. Now, he's a shameless opportunist. ;) Why can't these defectors at least have the courtesy to land in the NFC? At some point the Pats will eventually face the Chiefs, Browns and Broncos all in the same season.

On the other hand, can you blame anybody for not taking a job with the Detroit Lions?

Well said, he is going to a franchise with a great tradition and a great owner... good luck Scott.

Re: All that is left to say is ...

No well wishes from me. He's gone and part of the competition so nothing but bad luck wishes to you Mr Pioli.

Re: All that is left to say is ...

Good luck Scott (except when facing the Pats).

Re: All that is left to say is ...

Pioli paid his dues for years and stayed when he could have gone after opportunities years earlier. He deserves a ton of credit for his work in New England over the years. He will be missed.

As for wishing him luck, I wish him moderate success to the extent his success does not interfere with the Patriots' pursuit of the gold. He may freely pepper all teams in the AFC West without complaint from me.

Re: All that is left to say is ...

Is it possible to be thankful for everything that Pioli's done and wish him well, yet still hope that the rest of his non-Patriots career is a miserable failure, all without any malice? You really can't overstate how much he's done for the organization, but at the same time there are only a couple of people that I could root for outside of being Patriots (Belichick and maybe Brady, pretty much. Maybe even Cassel, a little bit, although that one admittedly doesn't make much sense).

Re: All that is left to say is ...

Thanks for everything, Scott!

I would have no problem with a universe where NFL teams finished in this order:

1. Pats
2. KC
3. Denver
......
.....
....
30. Miami
31. Jets
476: Browns

Re: All that is left to say is ...

WHY?

Why leave the perfect owner and the perfect coach and working alongside your best friend every year to build champion after champion. What is the point? What does he prove by going somewhere else?

Why do people in perfect situations think the grass is greener? The grass is full of dog shyt.

Its like leaving your dream girl for a crack ho, whats the point!? Just a change of scenery?

I suspect Pioli will regret this for the rest of his life. And he should because he is making a huge mistake. I don't care what they pay him or what title they give him. You don't leave a situation like he has.

Re: All that is left to say is ...

Scott Pioli should not be taken for granted, the friendship and bond that Belichick and he had was not replaceable.. Its going to be a loss, a loss we are acustom to , but its going to be a loss.. Thank you Scott, for the last 8 years of pure utter joy and helping bring the Pats to where they will continue to stay forever..

Have to agree, I really thought Pioli would stick around at least through the Brady years.

I thought if it was not Cleveland it was not going to happen, but apparently he wants to leave and now is the time, If Belichick approves, its ok for that..
