Some horrible match-ups, and boring games. Arizona and Phily for the NFC championship? Boring...

Ravens and Steelers, I guess it's ok...

I think, for the story line NFL, their best Super Bowl matchup would be the PA bowl...

A ravens , Cardinals super bowl, could be the worst rated super bowl ever...

Overall, this post season seems void of anything remotely interesting from a non-team in the playoffs fan.

i'm kind of hoping the cardinals win the super bowl and it forever goes down in history as an anomaly -- the year Brady didn't play.

Cardinals and Edge would be fine. I think Reid and McNabb get too much flak, so that is a win win. Steelers would be awful. Their fans are 2nd worst behind Patriot fans. The Ravens would be okay, but they have a bunch of douchebags who still seem to think Indy owes them something. I will be rooting for the NFC in this one.

I was mentioning to a co-worker on friday night that the SuperBowl's are typically boring and un-eventful when the Pats are't playing in them. I think the trend will continue this year.

Re: This post season shapping up to be one of the most forgettable...

Actually, I'm finding it kind of exciting. While it's certainly not a postseason of greatness, neither was our greatest Superbowl in 2001. That Arizona is still in contention reminds me of 2001, when an underrated team gave the greatest performance they were capable of. Plus, I like the Eagles, especially because they beat the Giants. Upsets are always fun, I think, provided they're not against the Pats!

I think Eagles are my pick of the teams left...

Re: This post season shapping up to be one of the most forgettable...

I guess you guys are more half empty and I'm a half full type of guy..

Its exciting to see the possible matchups of Balt vs Arizona or Philly vs Pitt in the Superbowl. Philly has one of the most underrated players in Westbrook and a defense that goes for the ball. Baltimore's defense is so a joy to watch. How they gang tackle and blitz from all different positions.. Never mind the fact they have one of the best defensive players of our time, ED REED.
How can you not like watching Arizona. The possible return of Kurt Warner to the SB after 8 years.. And watching Boldin and Fitzgerald eat up secondaries.. Listen, Moss to me is one of the great WR's in the league but Fitzgerald does stuff that no one else can.. He's not fast but runs great routes and has the softest pair of hands on the planet earth.
Pitt has a great defense and watching ... Okay I'd be lying if I said I like watching them. Cant stand them or their coach.. But I would like to see them get beat and that makes it fun to watch..

Take off the pats beer goggles and enjoy the NFL.. I have :)

Re: This post season shapping up to be one of the most forgettable...

if we replaced moss with fitz in 3 years i wouldnt complain

i also agree that he is one of the 2 best overall wr in the game (andre johnson being num 1)

Who said that? I thoroughly enjoyed watching them play the Pats a few weeks ago.

Re: This post season shapping up to be one of the most forgettable...

Actually if the Cravens can knock out the Steelers it is shaping up to be better than I thought it could be.

The Cards actually have a good offense and the Cravens a good defense. If the Pats can't be there, it wouldn't be all that bad to see a team that has not won a championship since 1947 win it all. It's not like they'll be a threat to repeat next year. Projecting out, the Pats would need to prepare for the Cards' next championship run in 2069.

Re: This post season shapping up to be one of the most forgettable...

Whatever happens...

I won't be able to stand Steeler fans with another championship, making them the best franchise in history ever, and their egos of superiority will be unbearable.

Re: This post season shapping up to be one of the most forgettable...

this is what the nfl gets for the patriots getting screwed

If you truly believe this, one has to wonder why you watch the game at all.

Re: This post season shapping up to be one of the most forgettable...

I think it will end up with the Eagles playing the Ravens in what will be one of the most boring Super Bowls in history. Then we will have Bruce Boresting to put us all to sleep at 1/2 time.

Agreed. As long as it isn't the Steelers, I'd be happy for any of these teams to win, though I am openly rooting for Arizona.

Re: This post season shapping up to be one of the most forgettable...

If the two #6 seeds make it to the SB then they should let everyone into the play offs and have a go at it.

Wouldn't it be cool if like Detroit could go 0-16 then go to the play offs and win it all?

When I say this I feel a little throw up in my mouth, but the Steelers looked great and it is theirs to loose.. Baltimore, Philadephia and Az do not match up with them.

I am also rooting for Arizona, though not because I particularly like Arizona.

Two reasons: (1) I like Kurt Warner and Larry Fitzgerald, and (2) my fantasy football league runs through the Super Bowl, and it matters not only that you have really good players, but that you have players that go deep in the playoffs. I happen to have Warner, Hightower, and Fitzgerald, and cannot believe my luck in having them get past Carolina. If they can somehow knock off Philly then I have a good shot at winning my league.

:D

heh heh. "Anomaly." That's what a lot of people tried to call the winner of SB XXXVI. Any team that wins a Super Bowl deserves the victory. And, the Pats didn't win the SB in 2006, -07 and -08 when Brady was playing, so I'm not sure that many folks would draw that comparison/conclusion.

The Ravens did a job on the Titans in their game that was compelling to any fan. The Cardinals' outthinking and outplaying a superior Panthers' team was great stuff. The matchup at Heinz field between the Raven's D and Big Ben and company is another great story. Kurt Warner's taking a second team perhaps all the way is stuff people will be talking about for years. And, where were you when the Eagles marched into the Meadowlands and handed the reigning SB champs their ticket to the offseason in a tough, mean football game?

Man, you don't get this game at all, do you? You probably would have thought that Colts-Giants, 1958, was boring because it went into OT in the cold and the Pats weren't around to be in it?
