NEVER count anyone out on any given week. It was a month ago when we all thought the Cards, Eagles, Ravens, and to some extent when Big Ben was getting knocked around, the Steelers were toast. It was a month ago when we all thought the Bucs, Cowboys, Jets, and Bears were not only locks for the playoffs, but would make some noise once they got there.
Guess what-the formers mentioned are in the final 4, while the latters have problems, problems, problems so far this offseason.
And for that matter too-we all thought the best locks for the Super Bowl were the Giants, Titans, Panthers, and Falcons. Look how poorly they performed in their opening games.
Pt being that we have to remember this isn't baseball, basketball, hockey, etc where the series is played out over 7 games. We seem to be forgetting how football is ONLY ONE game. On any typical day, a QB can be inaccurate, a receiver can run a few bad routes/show bad hands, an OL can have a bad day blocking, DBs can have a bad day covering, key guys can go down with injuries, players can show their lack of discipline, and coordinators/HCs can put out the most putrid of game plans. Like I said-sadly, it's SUDDEN DEATH when it comes to the playoffs.
Remember what Mike Ditka once said-you're goal is NOT to go undefeated, but to WIN a championship.
