According to the National Football Post, Jason Garrett wants Dom Capers to be his defensive coordinator if Garrett gets the Broncos' coaching job.
Garrett and Capers worked together in Miami. Capers runs a 3-4 scheme, which Denver toyed with in 2008 but doesn't have the personnel for. Capers served as the Patriots' special assistant/secondary coach this past season.

Everybody wants a piece of the Patriots pie. Geez!

What in the world did Capers do this year that made people think he'd be a great DC?

Apparently, so does JMcD if he gets the job. . . .

Yup, just read that from the Lombardi piece. Crazy. I wasn't exactly blown away by Capers' work with the secondary this season.

I could live with Capers to the Broncos if McDaniels stays

with the Patriots.

He was on the Patriots Payroll, and that alone seems to be your ticket to ride.

He's always been a highly thought of DC, which is why he always has a job.

I would prefer we kept him amd promoted him to DC, but good luck to him wherever he goes.

Dom Capers has a lengthy resume that includes far more than secondary coach 2008 for the NEP. Denver would require a total upheaval on defence to switch to a 3-4 because just about nobody looks the part. I do get the sense that Bowlen is trying to get a sense of what might cure their ailiing D in these interviews.

the yearly pilfering continues

He's one of the better defensive minds in the game. It wasn't what he did this year as much as what he has done before, and can do as a defensive coordinator. Honestly, it was a joke that Pees was Capers' superior.

Capers was only here for a year- not too worried about him leaving. OTOH, looks like Rob Ryan will be DC in Cleveland, so Crennel might be looking for work.

I was thinking RC may go to Denver with Josh. Whatever happens, there looks to be a lot of changes coming.

That's a hell of a starting team to begin with.
