Just went by the Official Chargers MB to wish them good luck. However-when I tried to START a THREAD, I got this message...

$bbuserinfo[username], you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

You must have more than fifty (50) posts to start a new thread. Search for an existing thread that is already in progress and post a reply. In a relatively short period of time you will reach fifty posts.

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?

If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Note: On July 9, 2005 we implemented a new limit for starting new threads. Only members with more than fifty (50) posts will be able to start a new thread from now on. We're doing this to cut down on the new threads started by the “trolls” that stop by to start trouble and have no intensions in becoming part of the Chargers online community. We are aware that this also affects some regular members but regular members will reach fifty (50) posts in a reasonably short time. Remember if you have something to say, search for a thread, more then likely a discussion is already in progress. We hope it will be a minor inconvenience to the Charger fans.

Huh? Are Chargers fans REALLY this sensitive? Most other sports MBs I go to, I have no problems starting threads on my very first post.

It's actually a pretty good way to eliminate the "drive by" types of trolls.

This site is the same way, I can't start a new topic yet.

Really? When I registered in Oct '06, I remember starting a thread with my very first post(It was asking why the negativity over Bledsoe).

Things must have changed then.

Yeah it was 50 I think, then sometime about a month ago it became 100. Which really sucks, since I have had some news I wanted to post about or questions to ask, and I cant and I am not going to spam reply every thread just to up my post count.

Trolling is rampant in the playoffs, and many boards take special measures then, to minimize that. Even here you need a certain number of posts to start a thread (10?).

447 and I still haven't felt moved to start a thread. Wasted privilege?

Yea, Ian and the Mods had a hell of a time after Brady's injury and last years Spygate nonsense.

It was needed and seems to be working.

i think it's very reasonable. if it happened to us we'd be whining
