Deion Sanders on Rivers

agree, just have pro bowl voting with no actual game, like any other award(s) that way you still have snubs sure, you'll always have snubs, but you will no longer have guys declining invites, or getting hurt in hawaii or wherever they want to move this stupid-ass game to

Getting hurt in Hawaii = Getting Robert Edwards-ed.

Says how he doesnt go to the probowl. He has been the best QB in the league.Everyone talks about manning's injury but this guy came back from an ACL. Got to agree with sanders here .How he isnt in the probowl is surprising .

I have seen his season stats and they are impressive, but his performance yesterday was woefully short of "best in the league". I have never been a PR admirer, but I did think that the bolts got the better QB when they traded Eli to the Jints.

I was really disappointed with the play of both QB's last night. Peyton was slightly better than his usual playoff performance drop off, but nowhere near the standard expected of a league MVP (especially as a multiple recipient). Rivers, however, was much worse. Some posters have blamed his OL, but he made way too many poor decisions, especially ones where he just switched off and threw the ball to the ground.

I have never really liked his technique, as he looks more like he's "putting the shot" for the Olympics than throwing a football. He is not mobile (though there are many pocket passers slower), and never looks as if he can run and throw at the same time. I know he has done so in the past, but last night he ran like a neandrethal with his hands low in front of him. He can and should thank Sproles and Schifres profusely, because without them he could have been blamed for a loss to a lack luster Colts team.

Best in the league? Wow what a turnaround from last years with TFB!!!!

Rivers did about as good as any quarterback would have done against a Colts secondary that only gave up 6 passing touchdowns the whole season and with an offensive line that wasn't giving him any time to pass. Just look at the difference between this years playoff game against the Colts and last years playoff game; last year Rivers had great stats because Dwight Freeney wasn't playing so he had all day to pass whereas this year Dwight Freeney was all over him on almost every play.

Freeney did get through a number of times, as did Mathis, but they only accounted for a fraction of the plays. Rivers wasn't always flushed out of the pocket, some of his bootlegs were designed plays and although deep coverage looked solid he more often than not threw the ball to the ground. The Colts D was flattered in their 9 win streak....even Detroit scored 21 on them (one of them a passing TD). Maybe I am being harsh on Rivers, and I expected more from the "best in the league" but that was not one of his better games.

He didn't have a bad game; just an average game. Like I said earlier, the Colts only gave up 6 passing touchdowns the whole season, that hasn't been done in decades. So, I didn't expect Rivers to get any passing touchdowns on them. The only real mistake he made was throwing that interception when he tried to force the pass into the endzone. Overall, I'm satisfied with his performance. Don't expect great stats from him next week either since we'll be playing the best defense in NFL history(statistically speaking) in the Steelers.
