How great would it be to see an 8-8 team host the Championship game?

Considering it is the Chargers. Not all that great. Personally, I think it is a shame that an 8-8 team actually got into the playoffs (even 9-7 if you don't count the bad call against the Broncos). Having them host an AFC Championship would be disgusting if you asked me.

I don't care what their record was for the season, what matters is they've won last 5 games. They are peeking when if matters, at playoffs. Anyways, if they win the next game, they deserve to be in AFC Championship, hosting would be a bonus for me :D

I know it's frustrating what happened but if this happened it's all moot IMO. Regardless of their record, IF they make it to the conference championships I'd say they've proven they belong here.

I'd rather see the Chargers or Ravens in there than the Steelers and Titans. Hopefully, San Diego can go into Steel City next weekend and melt the Steelers.

Thanks for the support. It should be a tough game but I give the Chargers the edge because Roethlisberger is injured and probably won't play. So, Philip Rivers > Byron Leftwich.

The Chargers were really down in a hole, never gave up. I thought they were DOA.
Good for them if they host the AFCCG.

I'd love to see the 8-8 team host the championship.

The only problem is that I want to see them go down when they're oh so close in front of their fans, and for this to happen Baltimore would be the SB representative. But I hate Balt. slightly less than Tennessee.

Hater :p

Indeed. All the hate over the years from the Colts, Chargers, Phins, Steelers, Titans, Ravens, (in that order) is doubled if not trebled on the way back.

I didn't think the Chargers looked all that good against Indy. I expect Pittsburgh to win easily. I like Baltimore in the other game but that one, I expect to be closer.

I expect Chargers to win a close one; and you are correct, Chargers haven't played a good game yet this season, and still, they beat the so called hottest team in AFC even though they turned over the ball 4 times.

The Chargers gave Pittsburgh all they could handle in their regular season meeting. And now they look like a better, more focused team that they control their destiny. I'm not going to get my hopes all the way up for a Steeler loss next week but it's possible.

Not that I like them but the Chargers were my preseason non-Patriot Super Bowl pick ... so just to be right I say "LIGHTS OUT" ... :bricks:

Indy didn't impress me before last night with the crap teams they beat heading in and neither team looked good last night. Rivers was flirting with disaster all night. Maybe I'm wrong but color me not impressed.

Chargers defeat either Cardinals or Eagles in Super Bowl...

Patriots 1st round pick
Goes from 24th to 22nd

Patriots 2nd round pick
Goes from 24th to 22nd

Patriots (From Chargers) 2nd round pick
Goes from 15th to 32nd

I can see Baltimore winning. I can see San Diego winning.

Playoff football comes down to running the ball and playing tough defense.

Pittsburgh's running game isn't that good. They may have to win throwing the ball. Which, they aren't that great at either. If San Diego can score, they will win.

i believe the steelers beat SD next week...when they played b4 they had gates and LT,

Ben is the only question, but w/ the pressure that the steelers will put on SD, i just dont see it

I have two words to say to that: Go Steelers!

the way this season is why not, I dont like Rivers and Lt is a woos, but in a season of unpredictablilty that would make the most sense...

Final Four

Ravens
Chargers
Panthers
Eagles-

Chargers Eagles super bowl.. 2 teams that needed week 16 to get in, perfect in a year that a 11-5 team is siting at home.. :D
