Lots of 1st-Round College Talent Declaring For This Year's Draft

WHy would BB load up on CB? Safety and Linebacker I can understand. But he just draft 2 CBs last year and he drafted one the year before. And one the year before that. He may add ONE, but I'd look at him likely adding one via free agency more so than that draft.

BB loves veterans on defense. If he could pry Nnamdi away from Al Davis, that would be huge, provided the youngsters in the secondary could run the more complex schemes next season.

You have Hobbs about to be a FA after next year and Wheatley is far from a lock especially w/ his injury history. We need both quality and depth. Especially when we seem to always have such a high attrican rate for the secondary.

People keep talking about Wheatley's injury history. Do you know what that history is? A broken RIGHT wrist. A snapped rod in said wrist because the Rob was defective. And now a broken left wrist.

Hobbs might be a FA after the 2009 season, but the type of FA is up in the air. If the CBA isn't extended, then he's an RFA, which means he's not going anywhere. If he's a UFA because they got a CBA extension done, then he may or may not go soemwhere else.

The Pats have Wilhite, Richardson, and Wheatley. They need a veteran presence more than they need more fresh blood. Its much more likely, in my opinion, a journeyman corner (like a Lewis Sanders) who can play on special teams is brought in, than more rookies are brought in. Could they add a CB in the draft. Sure. Anything is possible. But I think a vet FA like Bartell, McFadden, or Hayden are much more likely.

Not a surprise. Andre Smith - T - Alabama declared. Detroit should pick him now.
Sign Cassel as a free agent. Also, K.Britt - WR - Rutgers declared. Could be a
late 1st. Couple of big names still haven't like; Crabtree,M.StaffordT.Mays and
Sam Bradford.

Donald Brown, rb, Connecticut declared yesterday too. He is a dynamic back with first round potential but maybe not 1st round speed. If he runs well at senior day or the combine, he is a 1st rounder.

He has had a great year, he reminds me of a slower version of Atlanta RB Turner. San Diego should look closely at this guy, Sproles is not a feature back and LT is breaking down quickly.

Watch his time at the combine. I bet you he surprises a lot with his speed. I bet people won't expect him to run as fast as he does.

Was Brown caught from behind this year? Yes. But he was a workhorse back, breaking long runs in the second half after having carried the ball at least 20 times already.

I'm not sure how having weak wrists that tend to break would be considered a POSITIVE injury history. But I'm sure you're going to explain why any time now.
