Just heard on NFL Today .

Yeah, I just heard it too. Looks like the "anonymous source" is probably wrong once again.

I think it's clear at this point that Brady is doing fine and he's only "behind" relative to if he'd never had the infection. I wouldn't be shocked, nor concerned, if he has a little arthroscopic cleanup but Curran is alone on his island of concern and I'm not joining him.

I wouldn't be surprised. Curran seemed very defensive about his report when he was on WEEI. But I still stand by what I said earlier on this topic, Until I SEE Tom Brady running / walking around on the football field in training camp, I don't believe anything I hear or read.

Casserly pointed out clearly each facet of the injury and how it was doing. Dont know who his source is but hope its the correct one.

Seeing is believing for me. I don't think ANY media person has the real 411; some like Curran go the "anon source" route for their 15 minutes of fame and some pretty much just report what's coming out of the Pats/Brady's camp anyway so until there's something real and concrete I'll believe Brady's doing ok; no major setbacks and no major quantum leaps either.

I hope Curran's wrong, too, and from what I've heard/read since, it appears he likely is, BUT - Tom Curran is in no way the sort of journalist you're referring to. He is upstanding, responsible and hardworking.

I didn't say he wasn't, but if someone's going to publish something like that I think they need to be ready to back up their fries. jmho;)

Not only was Curran very defensive about his report on Pats All Access...he also did not mention his anonymous source at all...he said that he arrived at his conclusion based on "mathematical" logic. i.e. Brady had to be behind b/c of the infection etcetera. But we already knew that. Of course Brady is behind relative to if he had never had an infection. But Curran made it sound like it was new information and another setback in his article. I dont think he ever had a source. He thought he was being more clever than everyone.

I agree with your assessment of Curran. But he's still part of the media my friend. Sometimes even the good ones get it wrong.
It does not matter if Curran or Casserly is right or wrong. Until we see Brady running around in training camp all of these reports mean NOTHING, IMO.

Exactly.Seeing is believeing for me (And I think my quote got mixed up with patsox' reply, hence the confusion).

I do wonder if someone fed curran misinformation to create a legit excuse to franchise cassel.

It's legit even if Brady is on schedule - Cassel would still be our starting QB at that time with Brady coming off major surgery and a setback.

Curran is a nice guy but IMO he's way over his head on the national scene. You only have to watch him on TV so see that he's a journeyman as a reporter. No, he's no Tomase and he's not agenda driven like Borges. But his opinions mean little to me other than just another guy - which is what he is.

this is true, but if you come out and say brady is healthy and will be ready for week 1 then teams know you want to get rid of him. in the end it probably has little difference either way

The more I watch the playoff QBs the more I realize how solid Cassel really is. Cassel's decision making is better than Rivers' IMO, both in terms of where to throw and when to run.

Bingo.

All we really know is that Brady was at the Pats Wrap, walking around and chatting it up,hanging out with the kids and the reporter that was there said he looked great-walking etc just fine.

So,I'll say it again: I think our Tommy's doing ok-no major setbacks and no quantum leaps either. He's hopefully enjoying some R&R along with his rehab and unless there's some absolute definitive news I'm rolling with that:D NOBODY in the media has anything more or less than anyone else, and as frustrating as that can be for us fans, it's the way the Pats do things.

On WEEI this AM Felgie was commenting on Tomase's latest Herald snipet where the fat boy from Tufts reiterated Curran's points. Felgis stated that Curran's reports were based on his unique access to actual medical reports and facts while those saying Brady is on schedule (Silver, Casserly, etc.) are just parroting their inside the Patriots and therefore agenda biased sources.

Unique access to Brady's medical reports? Whoa. Hard to believe that's true given the HIPAA laws etc. Poor Tom is all I can say:mad:
