How did you feel about the Colts final touchdown?

I remember thinking after the Colts final TD last night that if the Chargers had any pride it would harden their resolve to win that game to nearly superhuman levels.

The last time I felt that way was watching the SB in 1988 (Redskins vs. Broncos aka the Doug Wiilliams Bowl). In that game the Broncos took a 10-0 lead on some trick plays and you could just feel the superior Redskins collectively resolve to deliver an ass-kicking of historic proportions from that point on.

So my question is, did you feel the Colts final touchdown was legit or did you feel it was cheap? If cheap, did you have a feeling, at that point, that it was going to help the Chargers more than the Colts? Just wondering if I am alone in this.

Legal play and the chargers should be blamed of not being aware of it. Anytime you play the colts you have to be ready for the quick no huddle offense.I have no problem with it. If brady pulled it off then BB and brady would be geniuses.

I was as pissed as anyone during that play but how can anyone say it's not a legit play? Manning does that all the time whether to catch a team with extra men on the field or to catch them napping and it's a smart play that smart players do. Do anything to gain an advantage... I may even say it's a BB-esque play

Watch the play again SVN. It wasn't like the Colts were hurrying up and the Chargers were lallygagging around not ready for the play. If that were the case I'd agree that SD just couldn't match the tempo of the Colts hurry up offense. But that's not what happened. The Colts were intentionally standing around looking like they were going to either huddle up and call a play or make a substitution and as soon as SD decided it could take the opportunity to sub out the Colts snapped the ball and ran a basically free play against what was, for all intents and purposes, no defense between them and the endzone. Reminded me of some trickery they tried vs. us in 2004 in the playoffs and got called for an illegal procedure penalty.

IMO, the TD was cheap and I wouldn't think it was genius if BB and Brady did that. I'd be ashamed. Same thing with the obvious pick plays they run, the piped in crowd noise, rules emphasis changes, etc. To me it all smacks of a team that can't line up and beat you with better talent, skill, scheme, or execution.

I was disappointed that the Chargers and Cromartie didn't have enough discipline to be ready. It's not as if the Colts have never gone quick snap before; in fact they do it quite often. I thought it was a smart play by the Colts, and said a lot about Norv's (lack of) preparation.

Nice find. If I recall correctly, Sam Wyche put in a no huddle - quick snap offense when he was coach of the Bengals about 15 years ago. Teams were constantly faking injuries in order to slow down the offense and get substiutions in. Enough other teams complained about Wyche's offense that the rule above was instituted.

Good stuff! Remember a few years ago after the goal line stand game in Indy all the Colts fans were ragging on us about Willie McGinest supposedly "faking" an injury and then stuffing Edge on fourth down a few plays later? Classic counter move to the Colts quick snap offense I guess!

everyone has an opinion. it was a legal play IMO. the 2004 one was also legal except two players were moving at the same time and the colts didnt know the rules and got caught in their own heads.
indy has beaten plenty by lining up with skill ,scheme and execution.
We did that classic adam v TD pass against the rams too. i loved it then too.
From my point of view , as long as its a legal play its fine. they did it and got what they wanted.
