This is priceless, yet another pathetic chapter in Colts/Manning history. 12-4, 9 wins in a row (and how many of those were gift wrapped with a bow on them) and they lose to a team that is 8-8. As Polian cried, "a bad match up". The Colts were the universal "sleeper, the team noone wants to play" based on all the babbling from the morons who get paid to do so on tv and the radio. If I were a playoff team in the AFC, I'd be pushing everyone aside for a shot to play the Colts, the paper champions that they have been, are and will continue to be.
The Colts/Manning are and continue to be the biggest underachievers in football, 7-8 with Peyton at the helm in the playoffs. Manning is surrounded by talent, his O line are the masters at holding without being flagged for it, yet year after year they continue to find a way to lose (weather, bad calls, too long of a layoff, bad match up, yada, yada, yada). It was their defense that carried them to their one and only Super Bowl, not Manning lest they forget as he was mediocre in the playoffs save for the second half of the AFCCG vs the Patriots.
This year, they had no running game, funny how Colts fans were gushing over how terrific their running back is, he was invisible last night. The Colts are masters as holding while pass blocking, but can't run block to save their lives. Third and two inside your ten and you drop back to pass? WTF? A sack waiting to happen.
Colt fans now have become the Atlanta Braves of football, like it or not and the window to another Super Bowl win is closing fast as Manning will be one year older.
The best part of all of this is next year, Patriot fans will predict THIS is the year the Colts collapse and don't make the playoffs like they've been doing for the past several years and Colt fans will argue "we hear this year after year, yawn!" and the Colts will not let them down, finishing at 12-4, 13-3, followed by one and done in the playoffs, yet another year to ask all the "What if's".......................
