It shouldn't come as much of a surprise but special teams coach Bruce Read has been fired.

Read's two years with the Cowboys were met with inconsistent to poor special teams play from the coverage units to the return game. It's believed he had a year left on his contract.

We'll have more on this in a bit.

The biggest problem in Dallas for the last 10 years is that the owner can't be fired.

WP has to go. The only reason JJ keeps him is because he is milque toast, I've seen stronger wet tissue.

I always expected locker room mayhem with him as head coach, just wondered why it took so long to manifest.

Shanahan wouldnt be a bad option for the players Dallas has at the moment - though I would discard Williams asap. I would hesitate for a couple of secs before jettisoning TO, but only for a few seconds.

Nope, but he CAN learn to take the backseat for a little bit. Al Davis did it to get to Super Bowl contention with Gruden (but didn't stay there long). I have no doubt that Jones is capable of doing it as well.
