Well, it's Clark Hunt, not Clint Hunt. And Lamar Hunt died in December 2006, not "passed away earlier this year."

I saw this on PFT yesterday and it doesn't make sense to me at all. Why would Kirk Ferentz leave Iowa and the security he enjoys for the Browns?? If he is barely above .500 in Cleveland after 3 seasons he will be fired, while being barely above that mark with a big bowl win here or there will keep him at Iowa for as long as he pleases. He is making $2.7 mil per season @ Iowa and was on the Steelers radar when Cowher left but he said he wasn’t interested eventhough he has many connections to the Steelers and their coaching staff and the Pittsburgh job was a better situation than Cleveland is this year.

Ferentz is part of the BB coaching tree and well thought of remember something to the effect that BB wanted him here a while ago.. suspect Mangini is just a smokescreen.. hear if Ferentz turns it down then McDaniels may be a consideration..
Borges makes a good point about sharing power in Kansas City and Detroit, but now that Shanahan is out in Denver, that might be a second spot for Pioli, as Shanahan was the GM, too. Plus, I'd much rather try to reform a team in the AFC West than in a division with the Steelers (always good) and the Ravens (either very good or very bad).
Since they mention Ferentz by name (while quietly dropping the Mangini as HC discussion), it certainly sounds like SP and Lerner are already deep in discussion. Sounds that way anyhow.
Pioli is a real master at player evaluations, but I'm not sure that his background is all that conducive to having an expanded roll in "football operations" as it seems that Lerner is willing to allow. In other words, he's obviously a great second, but would he be a great first.
I mean no disrespect by that either. I'd prefer SP to stay right where he is.
