A topic we've all been talking about since early last season looks like it could officialy present itself to us. Crennel is about to be fired. So, do we bring him back?
We all remember the rumors of Peas losing play calling priveledges late last year. We all know the defense is the achiles heal of this team. Most of that is due to the players in the unis and not the coaches, but Crennel was a master at game planning. I would LOVE to see him back as d coordinator.

iam quite sure bob sutton will be replaced by crennel in nyj

I, for one, would gladly take Crennel back if he wanted to reunite.

Not that my opinion matters to BB, but I would bring back Romeo in a heartbeat :D

He did an outstanding job here. I don't immediately see a reason why he wouldn't again.

On that note Zach Thomas said he is done with the Cowboys. Any chance he goes to the Pats, I know there was conversations before he signed with the cowboys.

while it would be nice to have him back; I just dont see it.

to bring him back you essentially have to demote Peas. Would Peas stick around if you did that? And how long before Romeo gets another gig as HC. I doubt he would be with us for more than 1 or 2 years max.

Is it possible he goes the Weiss / Carroll route at least for a year or two down to NCAA? Not sure how much coaching background he has at college level if that would interest him or not. If he does then I would think that is more likely than him coming back to Pats.

If it happened, they wouldn't dump peas. RC would come in not as the DC but as an "assistant". I think that is what BP did with BB here. But I very highly doubt it will happen. Crennell more likely ends up as the DC of the NYJ or ends up the HC of SCT (Some College Team). I think the only reason the NYJ thing doesn't happen is because of the situation. If Mangini is still around next year, one would have to believe that this is Mangini's last year if the NYJ don't make the playoffs. RC might see that as 'getting fired from the frying pan only to be hired by the fire'. And maybe see that as not the best option. I hope he isn't hired by Mangini but I'd bet that is where he is headed.

If he is available for the right price, great. But he is a day late and a dollar short in his thinking. For a guy who is known for his serious, dedicated, professional approach to the game, why he would pick Jerry Jones' Cowboys over BB's Patriots is soooo beyond me. I don't know, maybe he lives in or near Texas.

Do not understand why you want to dump pees and bring back Romeo?? Pees can only do what he does with the players he has and the D has taken a tremendous beating this year, consdering what he has had to deal with he has done ok.. this is the same D coordinator who was in charge when we went 18-1 last year...

I would be this is the case as well.

Crennel has a better relationship with Mangini than Belichick.

Based on what? Not saying you're wrong, just first I've heard of that.

Oh... and put me down for replacing Pees with RAC any day.

Doesn't this remind you of BB's past situation?

Belichick was DC under Parcells, then left to become HC of Cleveland, was fired, came back to work under Parcells, and was then hired as HC of New England.

Who's to say Romeo doesn't want to follow BB's career path?

I say BRING BACK RAC.

Doesn't matter because Mangini is gone :D

I'd love to have Romeo back here. Make it happen!

So we bring back RAC, and on the day that BB retires and hands him the reins, RAC betrays us all by writing: "I resign as the HC of the NEP."

?? :D

At the coaches meetings last Spring, people were noting that Crennel and Mangini were buddy-buddy much of the time, and that at one point, Belichick was right there and no one exchanged pleasantries.

Now, it could be that Crennel knew enough not to bring BB into the conversation, and that Crennel still has a good relationship with BB.

Defense is the problem but I don't see him as an answer.

In a heart beat. There's always room for high integrity, no bull professionals.

I'd love to see RAC come back. He was a great DC and seemed like a guy that players loved to play for.
