You need to keep The Rat as your HC. Please!
If we do keep him were doomed to repeat this vicious cycle of mediocre jet history. I dont necessarily just want Cowher, just a good mind in coaching with promise who inspires his players to run through a brick wall for him.

Rich Kotite, say no more
Pete "The Poodle" Carroll
The Tuna Rent-a-coach extraordinaire
Herm 'confused by the clock' Edwards
Eric "the Rat" Mangini, a.k.a. Fredo

It doesn't look good based on past history

You cant fault the tuna hiring b/c it restored some respectability to the franchise and had the team one half from a Super Bowl. He left after 3 years however his impact of overhauling the roster was felt for the next 4 years

After watching that train wreck of a Jets game today pulling for them to win, I now know what it is like to be a Jets fan.

Mangold and K-Ro, I feel your pain. The worst part is after you knocked us off and beat the Titans, I really thought all kidding aside you guys were the class of the AFC.

Since then, it has been a slow motion car crash for the Jets, just painful. The one game you did win vs Buffalo you had no busines winning, so in fact you should have closed out the season with five strait losses.

Just incredible, you guys deserve a medal for supporting that team and that organization year after year after year.

Props to you.

well..he might be there now by default because its his last yr and you also need a decent replacement . If not cowher , who else ? Mike Martz maybe ?
iam more interested to see if favre returns. they say he is going to have an MRI tommorow. What a loser...., you lose 4 out 5 and suddenly you have a shoulder injury ? What abt the head injuries ?
if he comes back with another 12 mill dollar payday it might be worser for the jets.
we might see tj houzmanzadeh or someone like thereof sign with the jets.

Double G I appreciate the post however it just made me that more depressed. Im going to run to the store to get some liquor to dull away the pain

So I kept watching the game, and every time the cameras panned over to Mangina, he kept looking down at this sheet of paper, and I'm thinking to myself that this guy can't possibly be an actual head coach. He looks like some new guy at the local Chinese take out place, holding a menu and trying to decide what the eff he wants for supper.

I mean, he doesn't even look off towards the field, just at this sheet, talks to himself, and occasionally asks someone standing by him a question, as if he's having trouble reading the words or something.

He's like Rich Kotite's younger brother, the one who lives in the basement and spends his time between watching TV and bowling. head Coach of the eff'n JETS? Are you kidding me? Give this guy an order of General Tso's chicken, a couple fortune cookies and a beer, and send him on his way.

A least the JETS are consistent with their coaching picks. God help the AFC East if they ever figure out what a coach is supposed to do... Parcells excepted, of course. He gets a pass because although he's a great chef, the FO of the NYJ tossed him into a kitchen with no groceries and ordered up dinner for 16. Can't blame him for leaving.

I dont really want housh b/c he is 31 I believe and we need more of a deep threat. Im thinking possibly Spags from the giants. Favre is done. Reports are already coming out on how he hates mangina and he had to make daily trips to the "principal's office" to address his poor decisions

I thought you guys had a great season. To win 11 games was very impressive. You deserve to go the playoffs, no doubt you were a better team then the Dolphins.

The Jets were building a team the right way and then they decided to bring in Brett Favre. Favre had something like 25 picks and was absolutely horrible the last 5 weeks. He took the Jets out of the playoffs, he will probably get Mangini and fired and he ruined your season. I hate Brett Favre and while I certainly don't like the Pats I'm sorry for you guys that he ended your season as well.

i think, the jets after working all training camp with pennington and that quick no huddle offense of schottenheimer really shot itself in the foot by bringing in favre. They had to readjust a lot because of that and we heard everyone apologizing for favre still learning the system and all that.but it really wasted their entire training camp IMO for everyone.it was all about PSL's whether the owner cares to admit or not.

As I said before. I knew Favre would ruin the Jets' season when they signed him. He played so bad that he ruined the Pats' season as well. If he plays next year, he might ruin 3-4 teams' seasons.

At least knowing Favre I had a week to come to grips with the fact the Pats were not going to get into the playoffs win or lose. I wasn't surprised of the outcome of the Jets/Dolphins game. Might have been more surprised if Favre threw a TD pass rather than an INT on the last legitimate drive they had. I think most of us Pats fans could call that INT the second the ball was snapped.

you know the principals office stuff and getting called out in front of everyone is something BB does a lot even with brady. Mangini is trying to pull the same but favre is too much a prima donna frankly to follow in line. Managini said last week thathe will give favre as much time as he needs. he got him 2 weeks before the season this yr and anything earlier will be great anyway according to mangini. He cant be serious. Problem is if favre because of his ego decides to give another go, does Mangini and Mike T have enough in them to say "thanks but no thanks?" . I dont think so.

check the game thread. So many people predicted the INT.

The best thing about this game being over is that we don't have to hear Simms say, "Oh what a pass by Brett Favre." :scream:

Thats interesting b/c I didnt know that Belli calls out Brady. Besides the obvious SB rings and coaching ability do you know what the difference is betweenn Belli and Mangina? Players actually respect him. How many times have you heard players say that Belli has a great personality behind closed doors and is a funny dude. I know players on the Jets who loathe mangina. The guy got a huge ego after a surprising first year and ever since he has a my way or the high way mentality

Congratulations, Jets! You are now the 3rd worst team in the AFC East. Had you lost to the Bills like you were supposed to, you'd be 8-8 and so would the Bills--tied for worst team in the AFC East.

Miami has the same Season Record, Division Record, Home Record, Away Record, but one more win in the AFC conference than the Patriots. So, they advance. Their toughest opponent was us. Our toughest opponents were Pittsburgh and Indy.

Starting now, the Patriots are set to enter the off season and next season as the best or second best AFC East team. The Jets are starting the off season as the worst team. This is before any games will be played. At least the Bills coach has two quarterbacks and an extension, and a consistent 7-9 record over three years--almost good enough to make playoffs this year in other divisions. The Jets, on the other hand, have to figure out their quarterback and coaching situation.

Well, Maybe Miami's toughest opponent was Baltimore as they are a playoff team while the Pats are not. Also, the difference in the 2 schedules was 2 games and both teams lost those 2 games. Going 11-5 and missing the tourney sucks but those are the breaks. You guys will be reloaded and ready for 2009, we all know that. However, I think you may finally have some legit competition now.

there was an article earlier this yr about the moss signing and moss actually detailed how he was signed and how BB rags everyone in practice including brady which made him feel comfortable at the approach of BB instead of being singled out.
wish i could find the link

Thanks for the classy comments. As a Pats fan I hope the Jets keep Man-genius another 5 years.
