His last meaningful pass attempt was an interception which is fitting.

His last play was a chinese fire drill that ended in a penalty.

His final stats: 20 of 40 for 233 yards, 3 picks and a touchdown for a 45.1 rating.

he has done like this every season. he will kill the team when you need him most.

I know Favre has put up some numbers, but time and time again he has shown he is absolutely gutless and disgraceful. He kills you more often than not, and the only time he won it was thanks to his Defensive and Desmond Howard.

Pathetic.

I sure hope he comes back with the Jets, best thing that could happen for us.

Favre has officially done what Marino did with his career. Stayed at the party a year or two too long and tarnished some of his HOF career. We did rate the QBs in the AFC East on this board several times this season and he was ranked #1 on reputation alone. Right now I would put him in a big dogfight for fourth in the division with Trent Edwards and I might take Trent Edwards over him.

What a bunch of mutts. I predicted this here earlier this week and stated I hoped I'd be wrong. This guy and his team are mega-dogs we won't have to worry about again until 2015 at the earliest. I'm actually glad for Pennington.

I think Favre is all hat and no cattle. Yes, he has some impressive career stats. But he's also the NFL's career leader in picks and has been prone to bone headed decisions his entire career, but particularly the last 5-6 seasons.

At some point the picks, the bone headed decisions and the highly erratic play begins to taint the good side of his career stats.

And let's be honest, much of his "legend" has been fueled by the media bobble heads who love him.

In Cassel's last game against Miami (on the road, no less):

30 of 43, 415 yards, 3 tds and one int.. Passer rating 114.

Let's see, which QB is the Hall of Famer (and PRO BOWLER this year), and which one is starting for the first time since high school?

Favre, you SUCK.. I had no hope whatsoever of him playing even an average game.. biggest overratted bum in sports..

Leading into the season, isn't this what all of us were saying about him going to the Jets and them shipping Pennington off? Favre saw his best days a DECADE ago, there was no reason to expect he'd all of a sudden play great football on an average team. Hell, they were lucky to have their 8-3 record, and then it got cold and miserable and Favre continued his assault on the record books (for INT's, that is).

I'm just pissed at myself for even half-heartedly rooting for him today. I dislike everything about the man, I HATE the way the media sucks his nuts all the time, and I'd love it if he went out like this...a deserved finish for a POS guy like him.

how about 5-7 years to long..

I was trying to be kind to two former greats who didn't know when to call it quits. I'm not sure who you are talking about because it kinda fits for both.

So true... but I can't be kind to Farve right now.. he doesn't deserve it.

mariucci is now defending favre that maybe he has some injury...as expected..

Favre made sure he made that excuse for himself pregame.

The problem with it is it does't hold up. His issues were as they always are - decision making. Unless he is saying he is either blind or has a head injury, I'm not sure how it could be responsible for his stupid play today.
